As the year comes to an end & the festive season starts to kick off, we like to look back on the year that was and see which features really resonated with you, our dear readers. We adore all our features – each one has been created with love & care, and for this, we are always so grateful for the time & effort given by vendors and couples alike. Kicking off the 2022 roundups is “Dearly Beloved: 2022 Polka Dot You Features You Fell For!”…

1. Chelsea & Lachie’s Modern Wedding With Relaxed Rustic Vibes

“Our wedding was modern rustic themed with a laid-back, fun atmosphere. We had a cocktail-style wedding with plenty of areas to chill, have a drink, and relax in between the formalities. We also spent a lot of time with our guests in between photos which we really enjoyed.”

2. Hannah & Will’s Beautifully Rustic Black Tie Wedding

“There are some wild lilies that flower during a two-week period once a year underneath huge historic gum trees in a nearby paddock to the stables and homestead at the venue. They were flowering on the weekend of the wedding and the shots Leo took of us walking through the lilies are stunning!”

3. Bianca & David’s Autumn Afternoon Winery Wedding

“We did things a little differently for our ceremony. We got a dear friend of ours to share our story and then had a celebrant do all the legal formalities. We wanted our closest friends to play a part in the day in some way!”

4. Nicole & Trent’s Romantic & Magical Rainy Wedding Day

“Our photographer made getting photos in the rain fun, and she was also a bit of a daredevil taking photos from the middle of the street in the pouring rain. Our favourite photo would have to be the photo of us kissing in the rain. We were in the middle of the road with our umbrellas. It was so much fun and was totally worth getting my dress drenched for!”

5. Jacky’s Daffodil Yellow Wedding Dress & Intimate “I Do’s”!

“I wore a 1970s handmade style daffodil yellow dress with diamanté trim! Our photographer cancelled at the last minute so my sister, Kelly Barber, stood in on the day. We got married at my Dad’s house in a garden wedding in front of 50 friends and family.”

7. Racquela & Michael’s Perfect Dreamy & Stormy Wedding Day

“Covid decided to gift us four different wedding dates and a stretched-out, three-year engagement. La Nina was also extremely generous and she decided to gift us a once-in-a-two-hundred-year flood… the day before and the day of our wedding. I would marry Michael in far worse circumstances and in far worse weather conditions because at the end of the day, I know regardless of how our day was, I married the perfect person for me.”

8. Meaghan & Tom’s Relaxed & Loved Up Bush Estate Wedding

“Stick to your vision, it was so hard to not get caught up in ‘wedding planning’ and others’ expectations. I truly wish I could put into words how special this day was and hope our story can inspire others who want a mix between a tradition and an alternative wedding. A beautifully simple wedding can be achieved without breaking the bank.”

9. Jacinta & Ben’s Bright & Bold Inner City Warehouse Wedding

“Doing our photos before the festivities properly commenced was one of the best decisions we made – the sun was shining, we didn’t have to leave our loved ones, and we could have a cocktail after the ceremony.”

10. Mel & Chris’s Autumnal Acacia Ridge Winery Celebration

“We are both lovers of all things rustic, vintage, and old-world and we wanted our day to reflect that. We made all of our decorations, signage, etc ourselves and love how it all turned out!”
