With dreamy overcast weather, a relaxed, loving atmosphere, and a stunning venue, Chelsea & Lachie’s Modern Wedding With Relaxed Rustic Vibes truly is a sight to behold. Captured by Bec of Azure Creative and brought together by the team at Hunter Events, read on to fall in love with the couple’s beautiful wedding day. Chelsea remembers how she and Lachie became engaged, and about their wedding…

There’s not really a special story as to how we met, we just met through work and mutual friends. As for how we got engaged, it was Christmas night after we had been visiting family that day. We were tired and about to go to bed, we have just gotten a new puppy (Nixie) when suddenly Lachie picks her up and asks me to check my Santa sock again for presents. I rudely shook him off knowing full well that I had already stuck my hand all the way in the bottom of the sock earlier. He then points at the sock again and asks me to check. When I look over I can notice that there is something square in the sock. I start to get sus. When I check the sock it’s a ring, Lachie then says to me, in typical Lachlan fashion, “Do you want to make this official?”

When I arrived at my dress appointment at Final Touch Bridal I had no idea what dress I would leave with that day or if I would even find one. I think I tried on 20 dresses of all different shapes and sizes. Boho, mermaid, ball gown, none just felt like they suited me. I then tried on my dress and immediately felt comfortable. It was a little bit different to what I expected but just felt so comfortable and like myself in it. The girls at Final Touch were such a great help helping me pick dresses out when I didn’t really have much in mind.

I also wore my great nan’s ring on the day!

I chose to walk down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”

Our ceremony was so great, everything that we could have wanted. Our celebrant Afaf Girgis did a great job finding the perfect mix of laughter, love, and seriousness. There were tears, laughs, and a lot of love. My favourite detail of the day was the ceremony, although it was nerve-wracking, I will never forget it.

Our photographer Bec at Azure Creative was great, from the moment we met her we felt comfortable. She knew how to make us laugh and feel comfortable and her photos are just amazing.

I put all my trust in Ally at The Flower Alley for our flowers, I knew she would do a fantastic job which she totally did. They were exactly what I imagined – white and green with a touch of rust.

Our wedding was held at Spicer Guesthouse in the Hunter Valley. We had our whole wedding onsite at Spicers including photos. We utilised the Talawanta room for our reception and the Lovedale room for our ceremony, and we had our photos taken on the grounds.

We really just wanted to enjoy our day as much as possible. We had the amazing team at Hunter Events managing our day so that we didn’t have to stress or worry the entire day. Our wedding was modern rustic themed with a laid-back, fun atmosphere. We had a cocktail-style wedding with plenty of areas to chill, have a drink, and relax in between the formalities. We also spent a lot of time with our guests in between photos etc which we really enjoyed.

My favourite photograph was in front of the Lovedale room under the arch roof. This was one of my favourite spots at Spicers!

We shared our first dance to Etta James’s “At Last.”

Try to enjoy every minute, it goes so quick on the day. Make sure you step back, take a minute with your partner, and let it all soak in.

Some of my most memorable, special parts of the day were my husband – anything I get to do with him by my side is amazing, funny, and fun. Our family and friends – having all our nearest and dearest was so special to us. We also got a chance to acknowledge our family that were not there. We were also so lucky to be able to proceed with our wedding on our original date due to COVID. Seeing everything you have planned come together amazingly, we were lucky not to have anything go wrong or anyone pull out. Everything looked and ran amazingly on the day. We really wanted to be relaxed on the day, we didn’t want it to be too formal or rushed. On the day this was amazing to have a bit of extra time enjoying those special moments.

Our amazing vendors – they were all such amazing vendors and people. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. We were so lucky literally all our vendors were super helpful, and on the day they were so kind and thoughtful.

The couple’s beautiful wedding video was filmed by Design Patrol Films.

Thank you to Chelsea & Lachie for sharing their glorious day, and to Azure Creative & Hunter Events for the stunning images & sharing their fabulous work.
