In celebration of our Yellow Issue, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share with you this breathtaking yellow wedding dress worn by beautiful real bride Jacky when she married Jase. “I wore a 1970s handmade style daffodil yellow dress with diamanté trim!” tells Jacky. “Our photographer cancelled at the last minute so my sister, Kelly Barber, stood in on the day.” We’ve fallen hard for Jacky’s Daffodil Yellow Wedding Dress & Intimate “I Do’s”!

Jase and I got married after going out for 5 years. We got married on Saturday, April 2nd at my Dad’s house in a garden wedding at Flinders in front of 50 friends and family.

I carried daisies from Flowers by Zak like the ones my mum carried on her wedding day.

I walked down the aisle to “There She Goes” by The La’s . Our celebrant was the lovely Nicola Garrard from Mrs. Jones Celebrant who walked us through our vows and readings. One of the readings was “Love is friendship caught fire.”

I even inherited my mother’s gold wedding ring. Jase wore a natural coloured linen suit with flowers matching my dress and bouquet.

It was a great day and everyone commented that the speeches were the best. Luckily for me, my father and brother-in-law are both performers. It was a day I’ll never forget!

We had delicious cocktail-style food from Blue Mini Catering on the Peninsula. We delved into a rich chocolate cake from Babka Bakery on Brunswick Street. Our wedding song was “Get Used To It” by Roger Voudouris and we danced the night away to other 70’s classics.

Thank you Jacky & Jase for sharing these beautiful details about your intimate & lovely wedding!
