We are pretty delighted to share Bianca & David’s Autumn Afternoon Winery Wedding with you! As Bianca puts it, “Simple, elegant, and warm is what we were going for on our wedding day. We just wanted everyone we loved there to share our special day and to have a good time and enjoy the night, with good food and music!” Now that is a wedding we can absolutely get behind, and really does fit the bill for a Winery Issue, don’t you think?! We’ll let Bianca tell us the story of their day…

We met quite young through mutual friends at a high school party and started dating two years later. We have been together for 11 years. For our proposal David took me to Tranquility falls in Daintree Rainforest, and we happened to have the whole place to ourselves, we had a picnic breakfast and David proposed on a rock at the falls, it was so special

My dress was from Made With Love Bridal, it was very simple but elegant and exactly what I wanted! David wanted a traditional black tux from Ferrari Formal.

We decided to do a first look, and having this moment for just us was so special and something we will never forget. It eased our nerves a bit and meant we got to spend more time with each other. The day didn’t seem to go too quickly which was nice. There were so many amazing photos from the day but my favourites were from our first look and actually prior to the ceremony.

Acacia Ridge was the most beautiful venue, you really didn’t have to do any styling, the venue spoke for itself. We really wanted a glass marquee wedding and it was just perfect! We were extremely lucky with the weather, being late May – it was 19 degrees and sunny!

I walked down the aisle to “We Found Each Other In The Dark” by City & Colour – this was played live by our amazing acoustic duo Timothy Wolf and James Difabrizio.

We did things a little differently for our ceremony. We got a dear friend of ours to share our story and then had a celebrant do all the legal formalities. We wanted our closest friends to play a part in the day in some way!

Leo Farrell, our photographer, was awesome, we felt so comfortable and we always look back on the photos he captured of our day.

David organised a life-sized cardboard cutout of our beloved dog, Sadie, so she could also be part of our special day. She may have featured on the dancefloor a few times!

Some advice I’d give would be to try not to let planning your wedding stress you out, it should be a joyous time and something to look forward to. Make it your own and don’t let others tell you what you should do on your wedding day.

After the wedding, Dave and I went back to our stunning accommodation, sat by the fire, had a glass of red wine, and reminisced on the most amazing day!

The couple’s wedding film was shot by Iconic Pictures.

Thank you to Bianca & Dave for sharing their wedding story with us, and to Leo Farrell for the stunning images!
