Plenty of things made us fall in love with Elisa and David’s alfresco wedding at Lancemore Milawa, from the chocolate-brown satin dresses and cannoli tower to the special appearance of Elisa’s nonna as ring bearer. Inspired by Elisa’s dream of a Tuscany-style celebration brought to life in Victoria’s wine country, their warm summer wedding was captured beautifully by Lana of O Lemonade, who caught every laughter-filled moment along the way.

Another Bumble success story: David and Elisa have the app to thank for bringing them together. Everything that happened after that first swipe was thanks to their amazing connection.

And even though David put in so much effort to keep the surprise engagement plans a secret, nothing could hide his nerves from how well Elisa can read him. “I proposed over a picnic. I had to get some friends involved to create a decoy to surprise Elisa, even though she wasn’t very surprised, since she can read me like a book,” he shared.

Elisa looked incredible in her Raffaele Ciuca Bridal gown, with moulded cups, a structured bodice and a truly beautiful full skirt that trailed after her. To finish her look, she wore pointed white heels, dropped pearl earrings, and a slicked-back bun, with her veil draped elegantly down her back.

Her wedding party wore satin dresses in various styles, all in this stunning chocolate-brown tone.

Before the ceremony, Elisa and David shared a private first look, a moment they’ll cherish forever. “I’ll never forget that moment and had goosebumps as Elisa was walking down the staircase. I will never forget my first impression of her dress as she looked so beautiful,” David shared.

David wore a classic yet simple black tuxedo from Tarocash, with a bow tie, matching his wedding party. “Timeless style is not something we will look back at and regret!!!!!”

Elisa had always dreamed of a Tuscany-style wedding, and when it came to planning, she wanted to recreate that look right here in Australia. “After a tireless search for venues, Lancemore Milawa stood out to us and working with our coordinator, Curated By Olivia, made the whole process a no-brainer from our first impression with her. She absolutely nailed the stall and the brief on the day!”

It was also only 15 minutes before the ceremony when David realised he had lost both his jacket and his vows. Thankfully, it was just a few minutes of mayhem and running around before he found them, and then they were back to their regular schedule.

Blooms by Laura took care of all things flowers for David and Elisa. They created the most perfect minimalist-yet-wild creations for their alfresco celebration.

Elisa walked down the aisle with her dad Giuseppe, as “Truly Madly Deeply” by Sidney rippled through the garden.

Their garden ceremony was an intimate setup on the lawn under the shade of a huge tree. “We both read personalised vows, and Jane, our lovely celebrant, told our story in a quite comical way. We wanted the ceremony to be very light-hearted; however, that didn’t really eventuate, as nearly the entire audience cried, including both of us,” David shared.

One special touch was having Elisa’s nonna Angelina as their ring bearer, handing over those symbols of love to the happy couple.

Thanks to O Lemonade‘s incredible photography, David and Elisa couldn’t pinpoint one single shot as their favourite. “There is one of us walking, holding hands, next to the vineyard that we love. The shots of our kiss at the ceremony with all the confetti are amazing, too. There are too many to choose from,” David explained.

The five things that made David and Elisa’s alfresco wedding so unique and special to them specifically included:

“1. The weather,

2. The styling by Olivia,

3. Having the best family with such a positive attitude,

4. Everyone was down there for a good time,

5. And the bridal party, who for both Elisa and me are our childhood friends; having them a part of it is something we’ll never forget.”

Speaking of O Lemonade, Lana’s photography style was love at first sight for Elisa and David. “It was completely our vibe, very understated and classic. We loved the way she edits the photos. They are really raw. She absolutely nailed the brief, and we couldn’t be happier. She was wonderful to work with!”

The couple opted out of having a traditional wedding cake; instead, they had a cannoli tower that was a beautiful nod to Elisa’s Italian heritage.

After all of their hard work and the incredible fruits of their labour enjoyed, Elisa and David had this piece of advice to share: “Patience!!!! The planning can be exhausting, but it is the best investment of both money and time we have ever made.”

Instead of a first dance, David and Elisa had a re-entrance to the reception after Elisa had changed into her party dress! “We didn’t really want many formalities beyond the ceremony as we wanted more time to enjoy ourselves with our guests,” they explained.

It was after the after-party was officially over that Elisa and David remember most fondly. “The beauty of booking at Lancemore was that we had complete access to the hotel. There was no real curfew, and we could party for as long as we wanted, which both gave us time to get around to all of our guests and spend some quality time. It didn’t feel rushed, and we had the most perfect warm summer night. Recovery day the next day by the pool was another highlight,” they shared.

Congratulations, David and Elisa, on all your hard work in pulling this wonderful event together! Thanks to O Lemonade for capturing and sharing all these beautiful moments with us.
