Set at the whimsical Burnham Grove Estate, Chelsea and Nick took their first steps into the next chapter of their relationship, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. From Chelsea’s ethereal gown to Nick’s custom suit and the inclusion of their beautiful greyhound, George, every element of this intimate garden wedding was thoughtfully chosen to create an unforgettable celebration.

Thanks to the teams from Society Photography and Vee Films, we now get to share their garden wedding with you!

When Chelsea and Nick turned up to a fundraiser trivia night in 2018 separately, they had no idea their worlds were about to collide and change their lives forever.

Fast-forward four years, and the couple was in America to experience a white Christmas and had their very own Sleepless in Seattle moment. “Nick got down on one knee and popped the question underneath the Space Needle after a day of exploring Seattle, Washington.”

Nick wore a custom black seersucker Loro Riana suit by Oscar Hunt, paired with a classic ivory Hugo Boss tie to match Chelsea’s gown and black Tod’s loafers to finish the look off. “He wanted to wear a seersucker suit, and Oscar Hunt provided a great range of options and expertise and was fantastic to work with from start to finish,” she explained.

Burnham Grove Estate was the beautiful backdrop for Nick and Chelsea’s intimate garden wedding. With an on-site homestead for the couple to get ready in, multiple ceremony locations, and a reception marquee, it had everything they dreamed of.

Adorned in a beautiful white off-the-shoulder sweetheart gown from White April, Chelsea looked ethereal. The mixture of ivory and champagne, with the waterfall skirt and lace detailing, made it the perfect gown for this garden wedding. “The team at Brides in Love were amazing to work with, allowing me to add custom details to my dress so I didn’t have to negotiate on any details.”

She finished off her look with a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps, pearl drop earrings from Ronza George and the Something Old (a Swarovski tennis bracelet from her brother), Something New (her dress), Something Borrowed (A Swarovski hairpiece), and Something Blue (her bouquet charm) tradition.

Instead of having a formal wedding party, Chelsea and Nick chose to have their nieces and nephews join in, and the most important guest—their beautiful greyhound George, their Dog of Honour! He wore an adorable velvet ivory bowtie with gold hardware and a drop pearl. The flower girls wore simple ivory dresses from Oui Babe and pearl headbands to match Chelsea. The page boys wore three-piece grey suits with an ivory bow to match Nick.

They instantly fell in love with Burnham Grove Estate as soon as they stepped on the property, saying, “It had that special feel that we wanted for our Wedding Day.” When Chelsea and Nick were deciding where to host their special day, it was really important to have a venue in one location that was animal-friendly, and that didn’t require travel or additional accommodation.

All of the florals and styling done for the day were done by Ab Fab Events – who brought Chelsea and Nick’s ideas to life. The ceremony was bursting with peach, blush, eucalyptus and white tones that perfectly matched the stunning backdrop of the Estate. They had two vertical column arrangements as a backdrop for the altar, which were later used behind the sweetheart table at the reception.

Their ceremony took place in the open-air Peppercorn Chapel, overlooking the stunning views of the property. And while the wedding began, the wonderful team at Pawz & Me took care of George, keeping him enriched and happy. “When we started planning our wedding, the most important thing was being able to have our fur baby George there with us on our special day. With the help of Pawz & Me, we were able to make this happen!”

Chelsea walked down the aisle with her dad to a rendition of “This Town” by Niall Horan, played live by the Becky & Matty Jay duet.

Taking the lead on their ceremony was Sydney Celebrant Glenn, who perfectly tailored everything to create a unique and memorable experience that Chelsea and Nick will forever cherish. “He was very personable and fun, making all the guests feel welcome and taking them along the journey with us,” they explained. “We wanted to have a fun day without missing out on the important details, and Glenn did just this. It was a quick ceremony, which incorporated everything we wanted while being intimate, relaxing and put at ease by Glenn’s professional and passionate nature.”

Thanks to Lara and Dave from Society Photography – this intimate garden wedding will forever be immortalised. “They were the absolute dream team to work with and made us feel so comfortable and at ease from the beginning of our planning with Society Photography. They are not just your standard photographers,” Chelsea shared. “They both went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us, coordinated and communicated with our other vendors, helped ensure we stayed to schedule and acted as all-round wedding assistants on the day. We have been fortunate to be able to work with them since in creating our wedding album, which has exceeded all expectations.”

The top five things that made their intimate garden wedding so special and memorable include:

“1. Having an intimate day with our close family, friends, and most importantly, our fur baby.

2. From start to finish, it was a relaxing day and ran perfectly.

3. The custom selection of food and beverages from Burnham Grove was outstanding.

4. Having the opportunity to spend alone time together at different intervals during the day.

5. We cut our wedding cake to an acoustic version of ‘Candy Shop’ played by Becky and Matty Jay.”

One of their favourite moments from planning the wedding was having a menu-tasting evening with Burnham Grove as part of their wedding package!

They also unknowingly incorporated a reference to how they met in their reception by inviting the same MC who was there on that fateful night to run the evening – and bring a touch of fun with trivia-themed activities.

Their cake was made by their favourite local bakery, 1 Two 1, and they cut it with a cake knife that was borrowed from Chelsea’s parents, one that was gifted to them on their wedding day and has been used for all special family events ever since.

As the melody of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” floated through the air, Chelsea and Nick had their first dance together. “In the lead-up to our wedding, we had a series of lessons to learn some basic ballroom dance moves, which helped us be more confident at the moment!”

One of their favourite parts of the day was the post-reception, as they basked in the post-ceremony bliss of becoming a married couple. It also happens to be the moment where their favourite photo was captured: “Our favourite photo of the day was taken after the reception, in front of the homestead with the Groom dipping the Bride in glorious golden afternoon sunshine.”

Congratulations, Chelsea and Nick, on bringing this intimate, garden wedding to life! And thanks to Society Photography for capturing and sharing it with us.
