As with everyone who planned a wedding throughout COVID, the time from booking vendors to actually walking down the aisle was long, but for Phoebe and Kyle, it was in fact so long, that they managed to welcome their beautiful baby girl in the meantime!

The extra special guest made this beautiful country wedding day all the sweeter for the newlyweds, who wanted to plan a day that was “Rustic with an elegant country vibe”. Well, spoiler alert, from the stunning country venue, the fact these two wed on the same date as Phoebe’s sister and her grandmother and great aunt, the beautiful blooms arranged by the groom’s mother, the reception tables made by the bride’s father and Kyle himself and the disco ball worthy reception dress, this wedding, as evidenced by the beautiful moments captured by Dream Cave has all the boxes checked!

It’s been a long time coming to for Phoebe and Kyle who practically grew up together, Phoebe telling “We have known each other since quite young, growing up in a small country town together. For a few years before we said ‘I love you’, we were social friends and hung out with a bunch of mates on weekends. Then a light bulb clicked somewhere between the two of us and there was no official first date it was probably just at a party or the pub with friends. We saw each other more regularly and then one day we both said ‘love you’.

The proposal, sometime later, was not as much of a surprise as Kyle had hoped thanks to one loose-lipped dad! “We went for a drive one afternoon to my mum and dad’s, Kyle ‘needed to lend a tool’ from my dad. Dad was working in the shed so Kyle went up there and I had a cuppa with mum down at the house.  After a while, dad and Kyle walked back down from the shed and when dad came in he said to mum, ‘Phoebe and Kyle’s news is exciting isn’t’. Mum said she didn’t know the news and so dad said ‘they’re engaged! Kyle just asked if he could marry Phoebe’.

It then clicked to dad that Kyle hadn’t proposed to me yet. My poor dad has never lived it down. He was so embarrassed. A few months later Kyle proposed on top of Mount William in the Grampians on a snowy morning and of course, he was only wearing shorts. My mum was very relieved she thought dad had ruined it and Kyle would never ask.”

The couple not only had Dream Cave shoot their wedding photography but also their film “An amazing wedding photographer such as Dream Cave is highly recommended” notes Phoebe. “Our photos are incredible, we felt incredible on the day and they captured all the details, especially the ones that you don’t think of taking.”

Phoebe wore two beautiful gowns, the first by designer  Mariana Hardwick. She tells “It was made to fit and still fitted oh so well on the day after having a child between wedding dates (thanks covid). Loved the whole experience at Mariana Hardwick, the dress ticked all my boxes it was elegant but modern. The beading on the top was perfectly symmetrical and the skirt was full but flowed beautifully.” Phoebe also donned her mother-in-law’s cathedral length wedding veil. “It matched perfectly and it had small pearls that were the same size as the ones on my dress that I wore down the aisle.”

Kyle donned a classic black suit, finding his wedding day look at The Coachman. “Kyle is 2m tall and found it hard to find a suit that fitted well” explains Phoebe. “David at The Coachman knew exactly what size to get based on his measurement and made adjustments. It fitted perfectly!! As groom from a farm, Kyle wore a pair of RM Williams boots.”

The couple chose the beautiful Allanvale Homestead for their wedding. “We had both our ceremony and reception in the gardens at Allanvale in Great Western. Allanvale is such a stunning homestead on a farm with beautiful gardens and outlooks across the countryside. It has been so well loved and it is all so immaculate inside and out. There is plenty of accommodation on site as well with shearer’s quarters and being able to stay in the main homestead, which is very special. The weather was sensational for a ceremony in the garden with an outlook of the countryside, with canapés in another part of the garden and a marquee for the reception.

All of our vendors were so amazing, but the owners of Allanvale Homestead went above and beyond to ensure that everything looked immaculate. The house and the garden looked like it was straight out of a magazine, they were so welcoming, stayed in touch leading up to the day, looking after guests and made sure the day ran smoothly.”

Phoebe walked down the aisle on the arm of her father to an acoustic version of “Chateaux ” by Angus and Julia Stone.

The couple was married by Jenny Greenberger. “I loved  the location of the ceremony being in the garden under big shady trees with a stunning outlook into the countryside” remembers Phoebe “It was very relaxed and we felt so comfortable. Kyle is rather shy so we didn’t write our own vows but instead, our celebrant shared stories and momentous occasions in our relationship together. Our reading was from Winnie the Pooh an original by AA Milne, my favourite.”

The beautiful flower arrangements on the day were the work of  Belbourie Brilliant Blooms. “Belbourie Brilliant Blooms did a spectacular job with the flowers. Kyles’s mum, Jackie runs Belbourie Brilliant Blooms and it was an honour to have worked her magic and brought together so many amazing arrangements.

We wanted flowers that you would find in a country garden and that you would expect to see around Allanvale. So lots of roses and soft shades, along with peonies. Jackie grows flowers as well so nearly all the flowers were grown by her. We could plan out different colours to choose from and Jackie knew what we could expect to see growing. I had always wanted to have peonies for my bouquet and Jackie made sure I had plenty of them.”

Dream Cave Co are just epic!!” raves Phoebe of the couple’s chosen photographer. “Justine, Nev and Mads all work so well together capturing every single detail. We caught up with them a few times and kept in touch over email in the lead-up to the big day. This really helped us feel comfortable around them on the day. We and others at the wedding felt at ease and we didn’t feel like we were being photographed or videoed at all. There are so many incredible photos that capture our whole day from getting ready in the morning to dancing on the dance floor later in the night.”

Spy that beautiful vintage car? It belongs to Phoebe’s dad. “A special detail was my dad’s vintage convertible Vauxhall! It sat on the lawn the whole time, but I have so many amazing memories growing up as little girl driving around with dad in what we call ‘Noddy’ (for the obvious reason that it looks like Noddy) with the top down and my hair blowing around like crazy. It looked gorgeous on the front lawn in front of the house and it makes a big feature in our wedding album!”

The couple put so much love into their day – right down to hand making the tables! Says Phoebe “Oh my goodness, my dad and Kyle made all of our amazing trestle tables for the reception. We used old water irrigation wheels to hang from the ceiling of the marquee, made a huge round sign to go onto a hired greenery photo backdrop in the marquee, and created signage to go in different places around the gardens, and so many more. It was a lot of work but we loved how it all came together and felt accomplished.”

And then it was time to feast! “Kyle’s brother Tait, who was also the MC started the speeches with the best and most accurate speech. He had us all in fits of laughter and started the night off with a bang! Tait is the quieter of Kyle’s three brothers and he had been preparing this speech for a very long time. We loved the speech and he accurately described us both with his quick wit.”

The newlyweds made their dance floor debut to “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John. “Our solo acoustic musician (Ryan Bell) was amazing and sung perfectly. We had our wedding and close family join in and the moment was exceptional.”

When it was time to party, Phoebe changed into a sparkling silver Rachel Gilbert dress. She tells  “It was such a ‘wow’ dress that I loved and felt so amazing in. It looked amazing by night and so incredible in all the photos.”

A big congratulations to you both Phoebe and Kyle! Thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding day with us and thank you to Dream Cave for sharing this one with us.
