South Australia! It’s time to round up some of our picks for the winery wedding venues that really make South Australia shine! There are endless options in this beautiful state for winery weddings so today,  we’ve limited ourselves to just over 25.

From McLaren Vale to the Barossa Valley. From the Adelaide Hills to the Fleurieu Peninsula, we’ve found venues that can accommodate it all. Guest lists big and small, indoor classic celebrations and outdoor parties under the stars. How does one even choose?

Deviation Road, Longwood

Adelaide Hills venue Deviation Road has all the rustic charm you dream of for your wedding day.  Their beautiful deck can play host to 120 for a cocktail wedding, to 80 seated, while the Wine Garden Pavilion can host a massive 350 guest event (280 if guests are seated). The vineyard and wine garden both offer up beautiful outdoor ceremony vistas that you can even make the most of for your outdoor reception.  See it in our wedding features here.

The Lane Vineyard, Hahndorf 

A winding driveway, a lake bordered by trees, views of vineyards and across the Onkaparinga Valley – this vineyard feels a world away from Adelaide, despite being on 25 minutes from the CBD. Following an outdoor ceremony, up to 80 guests can be seated in their contemporary dining room, to enjoy menu options such as a Harvest Menu or a Feed Me Menu along with estate wines, beer and cider.

Eldredge Vineyards, Clare

Specialising in intimate weddings this venue can seat up to 40 for a reception, the stone Cellar Door is the perfect location. A deck seats 80-100 people or 160 for stand-up cocktail-style events, and on the lawn area featuring a large tree, you have the option of an outdoor reception under the stars or erecting a large marquee to host larger numbers of guests. Talk to the team about the catering companies they know, to suit your style of event.

Talunga Estate, Gumeracha 

Catering up to 105 people this rustic venue is described as a ‘hidden gem’ and has views over the Torrens Valley. Dine alfresco surrounded by vines in the atrium or inside. Menu options feature from grazing tables to pizzas to platters, you also have several beverage packages featuring their wines, to choose from.

One Paddock Currency Creek Winery, Currency Creek

Make the most of the country setting with views over the vines and valley with a wedding team to help everything run smoothly behind the scenes. Accommodation for 12 guests is available on site with indoor and outdoor spaces for your ceremony and reception. See it in action in our weddings here.

Seppeltsfield Barossa , Seppeltsfield 

Set in 420 acres of vineyards, gardens and heritage-listed buildings and cellars, this venue offers an array of ceremony and reception locations. The Elm Walkway or Wisteria Gazebo Lawns, is available for your ceremony, while the historic Vintage Cellar is available for your reception. The use of fresh and regional produce from the famed Barossa region, complemented by wines from this iconic vineyard, ensures that your guests will enjoy your special day.

Cobb’s Hill Estate, Oakbank

On farmland with black Angus cattle, this estate has 50 acres of vineyards; the Cellar Door, located in the old homestead, is set amongst botanical gardens and is the perfect location for your wedding. As well as the undercover verandah, there are several perfect locations for a marquee.

Lake Breeze, Langhorne Creek 

On Fleurieu Peninsula, this winery offers rustic-luxe facilities and a vineyard atmosphere. After a ceremony on the lawns overlooking vineyards, the new Barrel Room Function Centre (for up to 300 guests) leads to a terrace and sea of vineyards beyond, an indoor/outdoor bar and oak barrel details. The Barrel Shed only available for 2 weekends a year, is lined with barrels and is a blank canvas for your decor ideas. Comfortably catering for 150 guests, the Cellar Door & Terrace is perfect for dancing the night away under the stars. You can also choose an open-air reception or marquee/teepee option.

Howard Vineyard, Nairne

The rustic charm of the stone barn, rolling hills, vineyard views and stunning gardens make this venue a must-see for your wedding venue. Maximilian’s Adelaide Hills, Verdun 

With views of the lawn and lake, your wedding ceremony opens the day in amongst gardens and gum trees.  Surrounded by vineyards, the new function Pavilion is set to amaze and there is flexible capacity for groups of all sizes up to 250 guests, various on-site wedding ceremony areas and a professional function team to assist you.

Pikes Wines, Sevenhill

Set on over 100 acres, Pike Wines, in the Clare Valley can accommodate up to 100 guests for seated weddings or 120 for a cocktail-style celebration. There are multiple spaces to choose from – the cellar, the deck, the restaurant and even the tasting room (and entire venue) for your reception. While your ceremony can make the most of the beautiful grounds and accompanying sandstone buildings. See it in action here.

Sinclair’s Gully Winery, Norton Summit 

This family-owned vineyard and nature sanctuary, surrounded by wildlife with birds flying through the valley, frequent visits from kangaroos, possums and often a koala in the trees, this winery is a sustainable eco winery with an organic biodynamic vineyard and serves only zero and low sulphur wines. You have the options of a forest setting, cellar door, preparation room, undercover patio, deck and lawned area for your wedding ceremony and reception for up to 100 guests – as well as making your own bottle of sparkling as gifts for your guests if you choose.

Longview Vineyard, Macclesfield 

Surrounded by beautiful vineyards, waterways and historic buildings, this Adelaide Hills venue is only 45 minutes from Adelaide. The Heritage Barn can comfortably cater to up to 180 guests for a cocktail event or 150 seated and there is plenty of space for dancing. Their cool climate wines accompany globally-inspired menus using local produce in shared, cocktail or set dinner options.

Barristers Block, Woodside

Can’t decide whether to go big or small with your guest list? Barristers Block can do both! They have two beautiful spaces for your big day. Accommodating up to 50 guests in one, and 180 in the other, there is plenty of added extra at this venue. Like the onsite three-bedroom cottage, the rustic hayshed (complete with corrugated iron walls and chandeliers) and of course, the endless backdrops for your ceremony. See it in action here.

Woodstock Wine Estate, McLaren Flat 

With a full range of Woodstock wines and personalised menus, your event manager will ensure that your day is as unique as you are. From a sit-down reception in a marquee to a more casual affair with pizzas from the woodfired pizza oven, the surroundings and the ambience of this venue will wow you.

Beach Road Wines, McLaren Vale

Beautiful Beach Road Wines in McLaren Vale, Beach Road Wines is completely family-owned and operated. Wedding wise the venue can host up to 120 guests (cocktail) and 80 guests (seated) for both your ceremony and reception.  Make the most of their talent for wood-fired pizza and antipasti for your menu. Mitolo, McLaren Vale

Seasonal local produce and curated wines are a feature of the offerings here. The Arbor is the closest you will get to an outdoor experience with all the comfort of an indoor space, with a full roof cover and festoon lighting, and Little Wolf Osteria embraces the tradition and flavours of an Italian kitchen made by hand and cooked over fire using produce from Mitolo’s farms and garden and surrounding area. Hillsview Estate,  Auburn 

Set in an inspiring garden, this winery is at the gateway to the Clare Valley and has views across paddocks and  The Barn veranda can seat 100 guests and The Barn itself can take up to 200 guests sit down style or up to 380 guests in cocktail style.

Golding Wines, Lobethal 

Hosting weddings since 2002 an experienced team is available to help you create your day. With a crafted sandstone Barn, surrounded by manicured gardens, vineyards, ancient gum trees and rolling hills, your wedding day will be an unforgettable experience. Gorgeous lawns and Australian landscape vistas offer many photo opportunities, while the barn offers a rustic yet elegant atmosphere in which to create your reception. Lloyd Brothers Wines, McLaren Vale

Just 45 minutes from Adelaide,  is a boutique family-owned winery that offers exclusive use of the lawns and Barrel Hall for your day. Their team will work with you to choose your suppliers (and they can even recommend some to you) and the venue can accommodate 80-250 guests in style. See it on Polka Dot Wedding here.

Kingsbrook Estate, Currency Creek

A walled lawn area or amongst the gum trees are your ceremony location options before moving on to your reception held in one of two venues – separated by a vineyard. The Orangerie with its beautiful arched windows is suitable for weddings of up to 90 guests or if you’re having a larger wedding reception in the Marquee, use this room as your ceremony venue/chapel. Serafino Wines, McLaren Vale 

With catering for up to 220 guests, this venue has it all – ceremony spots alongside the lake, in one of the rose gardens or under the huge gum trees and accommodation in 30 boutique rooms bordering wide tree-lined lawns, and a wedding coordinator to help you pull your day together. Your reception inside under a domed roof, brick floored building, or dancing under the lights on the lawn outside – your wedding day will be one to remember.

Gomersal Wines, Gomersal

Barossa Valley venue Gomersal, is just the ticket for small intimate celebrations, to grand guest lists. Anderson Hill, Lenswood

With a range of wedding packages to cover more intimate weddings or cocktail events of up to 150 people, this venue is surrounded by vineyards and forests. Their recently expanded cellar door and restaurant offer gourmet food and wines and craft beer to tempt you.

Bellweather, Coonawarra 

This is a working boutique winery with its produce garden, kitchen and campground. Celebrate your elopement, small wedding or a larger event for up to 70 guests at the Glen Roy Shearing shed located on the property. Glamping tents are also on-site with ‘posh loos’ including a disabled shower and toilet.

Coriole Vineyards, McLaren Vale

From the intimate courtyard setting to the sprawling lawns, the cottage gardens to the 1800s homestead, Coriole has the perfect spot for our wedding ceremony and reception. The Coriole Restaurant can cater up to 120 seated guests, and larger events with up to 200 guests can be hosted in a marquee. Glen Ewin Estate, Houghton

A beautiful heritage-listed property is a centrepiece for your wedding day. The mature trees, fig orchard (boasting 12,000 fig trees) and sandstone buildings create the idyllic backdrop for your special day. The large rustic building of The Pulpshed or the newest addition –  The Gatehouse, which has large glass doors opening up to a deck with views of a lake, sits amongst sweeping lawns and manicured gardens. With uninterrupted views of the vineyards, this venue can be opened partially or completely to accommodate 30 – 200 guests. Offering a seated or cocktail experience with the freshest locally-sourced seasonal produce from the region to complement our own organically-grown fruits & vegetables the team can create a bespoke day to your requirements.
