With the incredible popularity of Netflix’s “Bridgerton” series, it’s no surprise that many couples are starting to take inspiration from the delicate details and classy atmosphere. Trixie and Adam took their Bridgerton-inspired wedding to a whole new level with beautiful personal touches and a purple and blue pastel theme. Their photographer, Kenny Ngoo, was there to capture each enchanting moment as it happened—and now we get to share it with all of you!
“Always the right place but never the right time,” shared Trixie. Adam and Trixie finally met in 2020 after knowing of each other since they were little kids. The encounter at their Church was brief; little did either of them know that God was already at work bringing them together. “That very night, I kept bumping into old friends who attended the same Connect group as Adam and decided to visit. Fast forward a few months and we were leading this group together. Fast forward another year, and Adam finally made a move,” she explained. “We discovered that we had been at the same events, in the same photos and even on the same wedding table for years! I even found out that Adam saw me when I was 8 years old.”
Adam surprised Trixie with a fairytale proposal in a gazebo of a nearby park. “It was filled with paper lanterns with suns (the same logo from tangled) hand pricked into them. I walked down to the song “Tenerife Sea” by Ed Sheeran.”
The day before their wedding, they hosted a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Adam comes from a Fuzhou background, and Trixie has a Peranakan cultural background. “I wore a Kebaya, and Adam wore a batik. It was a blend of our Chinese heritage, and we got to pay tribute to that.”
Trixie’s best friend has done her hair and makeup for her since they were in high school, so it was very special to both of them for her to do it again as she’s becoming a wife.
Within their wedding party, Trixie and Adam had their closest friends supporting them. “Our closest friends are like brothers and sisters to us. They all looked gorgeous with their matching attires. And my bridesmaids were my something blue.”
She wore this classic form-fitting satin dress that flowed down into a cathedral train. “I had so many compliments like this dress was made for me,” Trixie shared. “I had a lovely experience trying on dresses and felt so special. I was surrounded by the important women in my life and was happy to share this experience with them. In the midst of the chaos that can come from planning a wedding, I had a moment to feel like a princess and absorb the fact that I was getting married.”
Adam wore a sharp, classic black and white tux that perfectly matched the classy Bridgerton vibes of the day.
This beautiful welcome sign was DIY’d by the couple, as well as their seating chart, photo booth props and name tags. “We were blessed to have a lot of things provided by our wedding venue, and like I said, it was stunning as it is.”
Masonmill Garden was the perfect venue for their classy Bridgerton-inspired wedding, which was full of luscious greenery and a beautiful rose garden. “It was like a pop of Victorian in the Perth hills.”
Trixie wanted a change of pace from the typical pink hues for her wedding florals, so instead, she picked out a soft blue and purple combination from Blooming Bunches that had a royal feel.
Her dad walked her down the aisle to “The Shire” from the Lord Of The Rings soundtrack. “It’s a song that has a special place in our hearts.”
For their ceremony, Trixie and Adam wanted God to be front and centre. “It was important for us to glorify God through song and word. The aesthetics was just a bonus, with a wedding of my dreams kind of vibe, yet classic and soft.”
One of their favourite parts of planning their classy Bridgerton-inspired wedding was the food and cake tastings. “What’s not to love! You usually need to pay more to add people to your tasting, we added our respective parents, and it’s something I’d recommend. It was a joy to share our opinions and enjoy a good meal together before we started our new family.”
Something that sticks out as a very Trixie and Adam thing for their friends is their shared love of KFC – so, of course, they had to include it on their wedding day! “We got to have a break in between our ceremony and reception and enjoy KFC with our wedding party. It was a time for us to celebrate the moment, and we had a really fun time doing a mini KFC photoshoot with our photographer.”
This shoot is also where Trixie’s favourite photo of her and Adam was taken! “It was the both of us at the Como. Adam is sitting down and I am sitting on the side arm. It was a time of joy and feeling so loved.”
If there’s one vendor that stood out from the rest it was their photographer Kenny! “We didn’t want to miss any moment and he captured everything we asked for and more! There was a little hiccup during the reception, but Kenny calmed me down and prayed for me. I am so grateful for his gesture and it is something I will always remember. Post-wedding, we had guests tell us that they’ve never met a photographer that’s made them feel so comfortable in front of a camera and created a fun experience.”
Another special element they included for their reception was their guest books – made from a letterbox and postcards! “Guests were asked to write us a letter that we would read in 5 years’ time. I’m excited to relive a glimpse of our wedding then!”
Aside from their incredible photographer, Kenny, the other vendors that stood out to Trixie were their coordinators, Tracy from Masonmill and Alicia from Frasers. “We are so grateful to our coordinators, Tracy and Alicia. They were absolute stars and super organised. We felt so safe in their care; our timeline was exactly as planned due to their efficiency.”
The top five things that made their classy Bridgerton-inspired wedding so special were:
“1. The KFC photoshoot
2. We both had breakfast with our bridal party prior to the ceremony
3. The amazing speeches
4. Watching all the support given to us by our loved ones and seeing everyone in the same room
5. Fairy lights in our reception, we love the movie Tangled, and it just created such a dreamy atmosphere.”
Their first dance was the same as the song Adam proposed to – Ed Sheeran’s “Tenerife Sea”. “I’d always imagine myself waltzing to this song during our first dance.”
The advice Trixie and Adam want to leave for future married couples is this: “My biggest advice is to find a venue that provides food and drinks, and furniture if possible. It decreases the thought and planning.”
Congratulations Trixie and Adam! Your classy Bridgerton-inspired wedding was incredible to view – and we’re sure even better to experience! And thanks to Kenny Ngoo for capturing and sharing it with us.
