In the afternoon sun of the beautiful Whitsundays, surrounded by all of their loved ones, Caitlin and Lachlan officially tied the knot with their party wedding. Featuring fresh flowers, adventurous groomsmen, and a big party vibe, this couple had their dream wedding. Joining their dream team, the couple had Alyce Holzy Photography capture the day alongside them.

Caitlin and Lachlan met through Dallas, Lachlan’s best friend when they all worked at the same mine site. It was when they were away for a multi-day festival that Lachlan attempted to pop that all-important question. “Lachlan kept trying to get me to go for a walk for three days, and I kept saying no. On the fourth day, he tried once more with the promise of food after the walk and then took me to a beautiful lookout on the sunny coast, where he proposed!”

Lachlan wore a cream ensemble from Yd for his attire, picking out a white linen shirt, cream pants and a matching linen blazer. “We just wanted something simple and not too bright, but something that would always stand out against the blue of the ocean.” His groomsmen wore matching outfits without the blazer.

As part of their wedding party, Caitlin and Lachlan wanted to include their son Benji on their big day. He wore a matching outfit to his dad but with baby blue suspenders.

Within her wedding party, Caitlin had three bridesmaids and her brother as her Bro of Honour. The bridesmaids each wore champagne infinity gowns tied the same way, and her brother wore the same attire as the groomsmen.

Caitlin wore this gorgeous gown from White April with its plunging neckline, fitted bodice and skirt that flared at the thigh. “Finding a dress wasn’t as hard as I thought. I knew that what I wanted had to be simple and fit the beach vibe, but after trying a few, I decided to leave it. Then one morning, I was out with our son Benji and figured why not try one more on, and it turned out to be the one,” she detailed.

The venue for the day was the Cape Gloucester Resort, nestled in the beautiful Whitsundays. “We had a friend recently take over the venue we chose, and we both loved the area. We both wanted a beach wedding, and this venue ticked all the boxes!”

One of the areas of the wedding the couple DIY was the ceremony space, as it was the thing most important to Caitlin. With the help of their amazing friends and family, Lachlan brought her vision for their ceremony aisle.

Lachlan’s favourite part of the day was this moment, just before Caitlin walked down the aisle: “It had to be watching our beautiful son walk down the aisle and then watching my stunning bride Caitlin walk down the aisle with the biggest simile on her face, knowing she looked absolutely stunning and I was going to marry her and spend the rest of my life with her.”

With her dad on her arm, Caitlin walked down the aisle to Kina Grannis’s version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.” They wanted the ceremony to be short and sweet, as neither Lachlan nor Caitlin enjoyed public speaking. With the help of Say I Do Celebrancy, they read out their personal vows and sealed their marriage with a kiss.

Caitlin says her favourite photo from the day has to be the one of her and Lachlan kissing at the end of the aisle—and we definitely agree!

The flowers from Espresso and Bloom were a beautiful mix of white and green, perfectly matching their theme of timeless elegance and complementing the ocean tones of the day.

During the space between the ceremony and reception, the wedding party joined their photographer, Alyce Holzy, to capture some portraits and bask in their newlywed bliss as the sun began to set. “Alyce was amazing from the moment she got there. She made us all feel so comfortable, and she captured our wedding beautifully.”

Their top five favourite things about their wedding were:

“1. Having all our friends and family come together,

2. Our son be a part of the wedding,

3. The amazing atmosphere that all our guests brought with them,

4. Having the whole day go just as I planned it,

5. The amazing food was the cherry on top of our perfect day.”

Wanting to bring the party feel to their reception, the couple knew they wanted to have foam glow sticks – adding sprinkles of light across the dance floor.

Speaking of dance floors, Caitlin and Lachlan opened the dance floor with their first dance, swaying to the sound of an acoustic rendition of “Heartlines” by The BROODS.

Congratulations, Caitlin and Lachlan—may you have many parties ahead of you! A huge thanks to Alyce Holzy for capturing this beautiful wedding.
