Outback Australia and Alice Springs in particular is so distinctly Australian country. The rich red soil, and the fairy floss skies at sunset, make so much sense that for Carol and Chris there was nowhere else they would rather elope. Shares Carol “We chose the Simpson’s Gap in Alice Springs, it’s not far from town and offered a beautiful surround for us to enjoy this special moment together. We kept it uncomplicated, it was what we wanted and were happy with.”
The couple ditched the fuss (describing their day as “Peaceful, Romantic, Uncomplicated, the place and the Nature”), ditched tradition (they even decided to get married as a mutual agreement – and I mean, check out Carol’s beautiful pink dress!) and invited just photographer Naomi Hill to document this day in images. It’s a treat for the weekend and a treat for the eyes!
Carol wore a dusky pink dress she found on The Iconic. “I wanted something simple that I felt complimented and expressed myself, and I didn’t like white dresses very much.” Chris wearing a navy MJ Bale suit. “Choosing my suit was a lot of fun, and I wanted my colour to work well with what Carol wanted to wear.”
The couple opted to have a private, undocumented ceremony, telling “We didn’t plan a large ceremony. We had some close family, and it was short and sweet. COVID-19 restrictions and distance from family and friends influenced us to make this choice.”
Carol and Chris’s wedding day advice? “Choose a photographer you feel comfortable with, wear something beautiful and comfortable, the photos matter.”
“We both really like the photos taken as the sun set lower, we have printed them and framed some on our wall” tell the newlyweds, adding of photographer Naomi Hill. “We met Naomi when we were with some friends two years before getting married, and talked about asking her to be our photographer then, and we did. Naomi was excellent, we all enjoyed the shoot.”
Congratulations on your marriage Carol and Chris! Thank you for sharing the beautiful story of your day with us! Thanks also to Naomi Hill for today’s images.
