It is always a good start to the week when we get to kick it off with a brand new collection from Hungarian designer Daalarna Couture. Today, we introduce you to the brand new 2022-23 collection “Idyll”. The celebration, if you will, after the storm that was the pandemic, the blessing, the joy that comes with normality, the freedom of the present, that comes after waiting, hoping and dreaming of the future. It is this that “Idyll” is born from.

Designer Anita Benes shares “They say we only really appreciate something when we lose it. This is so true when I think about this past period. It was high time for the weddings to be about carelessness and limitless joy again so that brides could calm down and enjoy the big day fully. This liberated, sincere happiness was my main inspiration when creating the new “Idyll” collection.”

The joy of now comes through in whimsy, There are gowns of polka dots (a firm favourite around here obviously)  with matching veils. There are gowns with watercolour like bright and beautiful hues, in washes of colour and floral print detail. Even the new laces take on a whimsical feeling – floral appliqués and soft petal-like detail are fresh and spring-like. Netted sleeves, botanical-inspired bodices, pearls and ethereal, dream-like skirts. And if full length isn’t your thing, there are two show-stopping mini dresses just the ticket for a registry office wedding, or, of course, the dance floor.

As we begin to grapple with year three of what a pandemic looks like, the “Idyll” collection brings out of the darkness something new, something light, something fresh – and if the future holds gowns of flowers and colour? We can’t wait!
