It has been many years of growing up together, that led Martine and Denham to fall in love. “I had known Denham’s family throughout my teenage life, as my best friend is his younger sister” explains the lovely Martine. “Denham and I only started dating much later on, just before my 21st birthday. We are now closing off 10 years together.”

The pair celebrated their forever story, in a gorgeously glam Western Australian wedding, the day kicking off with a traditional church ceremony before they headed to the Swan Valley for a candlelit winery reception at a beautiful winery. Every moment captured on camera by Manis Moments.  “We’d describe our day as rustic glamour,” says Martine. “We loved being able to celebrate our day with ALMOST everyone that we hold most dear.”

The proposal was a long time coming, Denham carefully planning it to unfold when the pair holidayed in New Zealand. The bride fills us in. “Denham had planned this proposal for about six months, both with planning our holiday to New Zealand and making my ring in secret. We were three days into our holiday when he decided to pop the question, and he even brought his GoPro and stand along to capture it all… obviously cannot hear anything though, as I was crying way too loudly!”

Can we gush enough about the bride’s beautiful golden gown? Martine chose Galleria Couture to bring her dream to life. “Just like a typical teenager planning her dream wedding, I always knew I was going to be wearing a gold gown. I worked with Galleria Couture to make this come to life and loved the whole process… roughly 9 months of fittings and trials!”

Martine entered the ceremony with her father to Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March”.

Martine and Denham chose  St Joseph’s Church Subiaco for their vows and opted for a ceremony full of tradition. “Our parents were closely involved with the planning of the ceremony and selection of our priest” explains Martine. “It was a very important part of the day for me too, as my 90-year-old grandparents would also be attending. Naz, our photographer from Manis Moments, captured this in such a special way.”

Martine’s bridesmaids wore elegant jumpsuits from  Shona Joy “We’d seen and bought these jumpsuits over a year beforehand because we loved them so much” explains the bride.

Denham and his groomsmen dressed in classic black tuxedos from Penguins Formal Wear.

With celebrations on their minds, guests gathered to toast the newlyweds in a candlelit, sit down reception at Sandalford Wines. “Sandalford had the perfect setting for my rustic vibes and Denham’s love for waterfront vibes,” says Martine.

Angela Sav Designs styled the beautiful blooms for the day, complemented with a three-tier wedding cake by Cakes By Dark Cherry, Martine sharing “Our flowers and event styling were amazingly put together by Angela at AngelaSavDesigns. She truly went above and beyond with sticking to our colour brief, and our roses and reception hall were beyond a hit with all of our guests!”

Martine and Denham added a little magic to their day- literally! They chose James Diamond to perform magic tricks on the night. “Denham and I cannot pick just one thing about our wedding day, every moment is special and will always be cherished in our hearts. We are so grateful for all of our vendors, and couldn’t recommend them more!”

Martine surprised her new husband with an utterly romantic serenade to kick off the first dance.  “I chose to surprise Denham and sing “Can’t Help Falling In Love” Hayley Reinhart’s rendition of the Elvis song” she tells, adding “Our amazing band, The Baker Boys, and I did this without a single rehearsal and they continued to play once I joined Denham on the dance floor.” Denham adds “I loved being able to share the day with our family and friends. I loved the fact that we also had great weather all day. Mainly, I loved being surprised at our first dance with Martine’s song, and being able to finally marry Martine.”

The bride’s advice to you for a stress-free planning experience? “Leave the last 3-4 weeks as empty from planning and organising as you can. Also, definitely leave your reception for a few minutes, we loved this advice from other couples.”

Congratulations to the newlyweds! Thank you for sharing your special day with us. Thank you also go to Manis Moments for sharing today’s beautiful celebration.
