Naomi & Bon

Set in the gorgeous Australian countryside, Naomi and Bon planned a day that was big on heart and celebrating their love! With lush native flowers, bespoke tailoring for the groom and a very special bridal party (beloved greyhound, Millie), this wedding day will immediately put a great big smile on your face! Morgan Roberts Weddings captured the day.

Having met on Tinder, Naomi and Bon were clear on the day they wanted. They share, ”We wanted a relaxed atmosphere for our guests – we didn’t have a few traditional elements like a bridal party or first dance because we wanted a big day, but not a big deal.”

Loving the classic and clean design of gowns by Karen Willis Holmes, Naomi knew exactly where she would find her dream dress. She remembers, ”Ever since I was a teenager – growing up in Paddington, I would drive past and see all the beautiful Karen Willis Holmes dresses in the boutique!” Bon wore a bespoke green velvet tuxedo made by Bebe Tailor in Vietnam, and cufflinks given him by his mother in law.

After a first look for the bride and groom, the bride walked down the outdoor aisle to a live acoustic version of ‘New Year’s Day’ by Taylor Swift. Laid out on the grass under gently swaying branches and in front of an arbour of native flowers, the two had organised an epic grazing table for after the ceremony. They tell, ”The readings were entirely up to two of Naomi’s very good friends. The feeling we wanted to have was for everyone to be relaxed and have a bit of fun.”

With the picturesque countryside setting the scene, and clear skies and a golden sunset, the couple made the most of the rustic setting. Naomi had a gorgeous bouquet, unstructured and full of Australian flora. She says, ”We let Your Somerset Florist choose the flowers because they are the experts and they had worked at the venue before, we just wanted a few natives and whatever was in season.”

Capturing the day was Morgan Roberts Weddings. The bride and groom share, ”Morgan was excellent at taking candid shots and making us feel relaxed throughout the process. All of our vendors went above and beyond what we expected of them. Our favourite part of the planning was leaving most of it up to them to do for us.”

The ceremony was held at Bebe’s Farmhouse, with the reception being held at Coronation Hall, Somerset Dam. The couple tell, ”There was not a cloud in the sky the day of our wedding, and our guests said that the beautiful views of the farm, large tree and countryside made the ceremony magic. The hall for the reception was large enough to fit our guests and still have a big space for the DJ and dance floor. We gave out a small trophy for ‘Best Dancer’ which was originally supposed to go to Naomi’s 5 year old nephew from NZ, but he went to bed early so we ended up giving it to my cousin who is a dance teacher!”

Wanting the wedding celebrations to be enjoyed by all guests young and old, the bride and groom provided some extra details. They share, ”We bought children’s books and placed them at the table for young kids that came. We also organised a ham station to be set up at the end of the night because we knew people would be hungry and there would be nowhere to get a quick bite.”

Good food was provided by Al’Freshco Catering and cheese by Your Platter Matters, with the focus on the evening being for everyone to have fun! Naomi and Bon tell, ”We didn’t have a first dance but the DJ put on ‘Get Busy’ by Sean Paul as our first song after speeches, and we told everyone to get up and join us for a big dance.”

Congratulations to our beautiful bride and groom on your gorgeous wedding day, thank you for sharing it with us! Thank you also to Morgan Roberts Weddings for your stunning images!
