Tara & Jacqui

It was somewhat of a Tinder fluke that led today’s gorgeous couple, Tara and Jacqui to meet. “We met on Tinder, but by luck because our distance wouldn’t have usually matched us! ” tells the bride to be Tara. “We both happened to be at the same opening night for a club in the city, and we both happened to be pretty bored and resorting to Tinder at the same time.”

It took hours and hours of non-stop messaging and four more days before the pair finally met. An evening of wine and board games sealing the deal, the pair becoming fiercely inseparable over much common ground. it was the beginning of something very special, and after a romantic proposal (more on that later) the happy couple took to the Flinders Blowhole to celebrate.

Rolling grassy hills framing the moody ocean, Tara and Jacqui could think of no better way to mark their engagement, than hiring talented friend Emily Howlett Photography to spend an afternoon with them by the sea. I know you’ll agree the resulting photos are pretty darn beautiful and we’re so honoured to show them off!

As for what these two love about one another? “We love that our relationship has helped us grow both together and individually. We have all the patience in the world for one another, and we rarely disagree on anything to be honest. Just two pea’s in a pod. Best friends who are truly in love!”

It was Tara who popped the question, choosing a weekend away in the Grampians to surprise Jacqui with a ring. She remembers the tale. “I (Tara) went ring shopping and kept it all a secret for months, waiting for the perfect opportunity. We made plans to go on a mini getaway to the Grampians for some hiking and exploring. I kept the ring hidden in my backpack the whole time, having no real plan on when or where I would pop the question.
We went to a lookout early one morning to watch the sunrise. It was freezing cold but a really romantic setting and no one else at the lookout, we had it all to ourselves. We sat and watched the sun slowly rise as I sneakingly set up a go-pro in the background to capture the moment. Whilst Jacqui had her back turned to look over the cliff, I got down on one knee and pulled out the ring, (I did try it once before this while she had her back turned but I froze and didn’t even make it down to my knee haha) Jacqui turned around and almost fell off the cliff in shock! (Luckily there was a big boulder behind her to catch her).
“The past three years have been the happiest years of my life, because of you. I was hoping you would make the rest of my life as great as the last three… will you marry me?”
And she said, YES!!”
