Courtney & Marc

The beauty of Autumn is hard to go past when it comes to weddings and for Courtney and Marc,

Society Photography made the most of their stunning winery backdrop and the golden sunsets of the season as Courtney & Marc tied the knot in a classically beautiful way. An outdoor ceremony and cosy, candlelight filled reception bringing to life the best of the season.

It was through friends that these two met, Courtney, fills us in. “Back in 2007 my (Courtney) best friend invited me over to her boyfriend’s house in Summer and us were all playing cricket out the front when I noticed a really cute guy. It was my best friend’s boyfriend’s older brother and I was trying to impress him with my cricket skills. We both had partners at the time so nothing happened until months down the track.” The groom to be popped the question at Ballast Point Park, in a moment reminiscent of the love locked bridges of Paris he presented Courtney with an engraved lock with the age-old question, before dropping to one knee.

Courtney chose an elegantly beaded long sleeve wedding gown from Karen Willis Holmes. She shares “I always wanted a long sleeve dress so that narrowed down my selection, I was looking through Instagram and noticed that Karen Willis Holmes had a beautiful beaded long sleeve dress so I instantly locked in a time to try it on and brought along my sister and Mum. The experience was amazing, we were offered champagne on arrival the ladies were lovely and when I tried it on I instantly had tears in my eyes because I loved it so much. ”

The groom chose a classic navy tuxedo with black lapel from MJ Bale.

Rheannonlee Floral Designs styled up the floral details of the day, Courtney noting “I love natives so we had them in our bouquets and also wanted to tie in with the burgundy bridesmaid dresses so picked greenery with pops of burgundy flowers.” The flowers adorned a wooden arch made by the bride’s brother.

Courtney walked down the aisle on the arms of her father and stepfather to Kate Miller Heideke’s “Walking On A Dream”.

Courtney and Mac chose Leonia Stone to officiate their ceremony. “I was always worried about getting really emotional so didn’t want a long ceremony, we did a ring warming which involved blessing the rings and passing them around to everyone watching so they could give their blessing or make a wish for us” remarks Courtney.

The beautiful Autumn setting of Centennial Vineyards Bowral made for the most beautiful backdrop, an easy choice for Courtney & Marc, who tell “We wanted to pick somewhere in the Southern Highlands and they have so many nice wineries – we found Centennial Vineyards which has a restaurant and cellar door all in one. The venue had beautiful exposed beams and so much character without having to do anything and that’s why we fell in love with it. The time of year meant the vineyards had the most beautiful coloured leaves.”

Of their photographers, Courtney raves “We used Society Photography after our good friends used them at their wedding, both David and Lara were amazing to work with. I knew they did an amazing job after seeing photos of my friend’s wedding but when we got our own photos back we were absolutely blown away with how amazing they were. They were just great from start to finish, from meeting them initially and always so reliable through the process.”

The newlyweds chose John Lennon’s “Stand By Me” for their first dance. The reception was a highlight for the bride, who loved the downtime. She explains “I loved sitting back at the reception and enjoying each other’s company. It pretty crazy so I think we most enjoyed being able to sit back and really absorb the day.”

Ford Productions captured this gorgeous film of the day as it unfolded.

A big congratulations to you both Courtney and Marc! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Society Photography for sharing today’s celebration.
