Anna & Paul
We do adore a destination wedding here at Polka Dot Bride and Anna and Paul’s choice of a Lisbon destination wedding may have just enchanted our Portugal loving hearts! Anna and Paul worked with Piteira Photography to capture their beautiful day.
Anna tells, “We met at London at a house party. We chose Lisbon as the destination of our wedding as it such a beautiful old city with steep hills and vintage trams and it was also the city in which we got engaged!”
Anna wore a cream lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana while the groom chose to have his suit custom made by Beggars Run London . The bride telling, “My dress was made by Dolce & Gabbana and purchased from their Old Bond Street store in London. I chose it because I thought it would suit the Lisbon theme with the vintage trams etc. I was also looking for a short wedding dress and something different. The experience was great, I was treated to a little bottle of Moet Champagne and all the staff made the whole experience lots of fun.”
Of their photographer, Anna notes, “We loved their style of photography, it was exactly what we wanted and everyone has made comments that our wedding photos looked like something from a magazine shoot. They really looked after us and took us to some great locations for our shoot, they were really friendly and had some great ideas. They made our day lots of fun.”
Anna and Paul were married at Lisbon City Hall, noting, “We chose to get married at the Praça do Município (city hall) because it was such a beautiful and grand old building which overlooked one of the main squares.”
“We wanted our wedding day to be relaxed as possible but we also wanted to do something different as everyone travelled to Portugal from various countries so we organised a vintage tram tour to take the guests from the wedding venue to the restaurant. The tour included guides who provided Port and pasteis de nata (traditional custard tart) along with a brief history of Lisbon landmarks.”
Guests adjourned to for the reception to Pharmacia Restaurant. “We chose the Restaurante Pharmacia for our wedding reception as it is set an amazing building with a quirky pharmacy theme, which appealed to Anna who is also a pharmacist. The dining room had a balcony with a terrace garden which overlooked the whole bay. The food was exceptional and traditional.”
Congratulations to the newlyweds! Thanks for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Piteira Photography for sharing today’s destination wedding!
This is my ideal wedding! I would love to know what company they used for the tram tour?
