Nicole and Josh
There is a lot to love about today’s romantic Bell Rapids engagement shoot. From the stunning backdrop of earth and water, to the tender, blissful moments between the happy couple captured by iZO Photography.
Nicole tells their story. “We met in late 2009. Our love story is a unique one, my mother actually fell in love with Joshua long before I had even laid eyes on him! They were working together for 6 months before we met, she used to talk about him constantly, gushing about how lovely he was and dropping little hints about setting us up. I was not interested in the slightest, I figured if my Mum liked him he wouldn’t be my cup of tea (boy was I wrong).
We finally met at the local pub by chance when Mum and I went out for dinner. I spotted him across the room and fell in love at first sight, I almost fell over when he looked up and started waving at my Mum. I was far too shy to get any words out and he was left with the impression I was a total snob! We then met at a Christmas party a few weeks later and after a few drinks I finally worked up the courage to talk to him and later that night we shared our first kiss.”
The proposal was very sentimental for Nicole who remembers, “Josh proposed on the 2nd August 2013 at sunset at the historic town of Cossack, overlooking Settlers Beach. He chose this spot as we love to walk our two dogs along the beach there, and it also overlooks the two towns (Point Samson and Wickham) where we met, fell in love and started our life together.
We walked up to the lookout with our dogs and he blindfolded me once we got to the top and when I took it off he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand. He made the most beautiful speech and asked me to marry him, I said yes (my answer may have been a little muffled as there was lots of tears!) and we celebrated with a bottle of champagne and watched the sun go down. It was the most beautiful moment of my life.”
“We chose this style of photos because it had a really natural, relaxed feel. We were doing what we normally do – walking, talking, laughing and enjoying each other’s company and Jimmy captured it perfectly. Bells Rapids was the perfect place, we love its natural beauty and earthy elements.”
Gorgeous engagement shoot. It feels like an enchanted forest in some parts!
Love the tones in this shoot deep greens…and the floral headpiece is a nice touch of colour:)
