Oh Winter, you certainly bring our the most beautiful of colours and textures with this Winter barn wedding ideas shoot from a very talented team of wedding vendors.
Photographer Meaghan Cook teamed up with florist Georgie Stanton, hair and makeup artist Lexi DeRock , bridal boutique The Bridal Atelier, stationer Pretty In Paper and model Natasha Bogic at the stunning The Barn Wallington to create a shoot that really showed off the beauty that is an Australian winter wedding.
From a table laden with Winter fruits and sweet, delicious treats, flowers that spill with their colour and texture all over your screen and a few beautiful dresses to seal the deal, this shoot could only make me fall even more in love with weddings in the coldest season of the year.
Hair and makeup artist Lexi DeRock tells the story behind the shoot. “After seven years of living and working in Paris I recently relocated to Geelong, Victoria as it is my husband’s home town and have just opened a vintage beauty parlour here. I’ve always loved working on weddings and collaborating with other vendors to create beautiful styled shoots for inspiration.
I decided to reach out to some local vendors whose work I thought was beautiful and try to create something special in my new home town. I adore Australia and there is something so lovely about the nature here in its difference to anywhere in the world and I wanted to find a place to showcase that Australian nature in all it’s glory and The Barn in Wallington is a stunning rustic venue that has a particularly Aussie charm that I love.
I am also just starting to get used to the change in the reverse of the seasons here and while the other half of the globe is going into spring I really wanted us to create a shoot that celebrated the autumnal and wintery scenery that is so unique here. To me this shoot is my introduction to my new country and town and it’s residents and a chance to bring what I’ve done all over the world to a new corner and celebrate all that country Victoria has to share. ”
