Candice & Todd
I love the bright Summer feeling behind today’s wedding. Limes and oranges, bright tones and a bright feeling all came together for Candice and Todd’s marriage celebration in Sydney. They chose At Dusk Photography to capture their wedding day.
Candice and Todd’s story starts in kindergarten, Candice remembering, “We first met in Kindergarten at primary school; we have known each other for many years. After high school both of our friends starting dating and set us up, from that first date we never looked back. Our first date was a dinner in a big group of friends and I actually split all red wine over him – whoops.”
Candice chose a gown from Helen Rodrigues. Her aunt made the bridesmaid’s dresses.
Candice and Todd were married at St Brigid’s Church Coogee.
Candice walked down the aisle to Matt Corby’s “Resolution”. Candice remembers, “When writing our vows we incorporated things that our parents did on their wedding day, into our own.”
5 Star Hollywood Limousines transported the bridal party on the day.
Of their photographer, Candice notes, “Chris Prestidge at At Dusk Photography was our wedding photographer and from the first moment we met him we knew he would be our guy! The day wouldn’t have been as special if it wasn’t for him. We developed a bond that day with our photographer that will last for many years. He was so relaxed and captured all of the special memories ”
Candice and Todd chose Botanic Gardens Restaurant for their reception, noting, “It’s an amazing venue with ample picturesque scenery both inside and out. We had a cocktail reception for 150 guests with a dance floor and band and the venue was still extremely comfortable for all our guests. We hired the botanic gardens train to meet and greet our guests as they arrived at the venue to give them a tour around the gardens prior to pre-drinks in the gardens.”
There was plenty of family involvement in the day, Candice noting, “My family and I did a lot of DIY for the day, which had a big impact on the cost. I made all of the smaller pieces and decorations, which include ceremony programs, mason jars, napkins, wishing well, and family pictures. Whilst my aunty made all of the bridesmaid dresses and my friend’s mum made our wedding cake.”
Of their first dance, Candice remembers, “We didn’t take our first dance as seriously as some, it was extremely relaxed and funny as we danced to Billy Joel – Just the way you are.”
The Baker Boys performed all night, Candice remarking “Having a live band really got everyone in the mood for a great time.”
Congratulations on your marriage Candice and Todd! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to At Dusk Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
