It’s always fun to go into a little piece of wedding dreamland, I mean it’s not like a bride might wear antlers on her head (well she might, I just haven’t met her yet), but in today’s whimsical woodland inspiration shoot from a team of creative Melbourne wedding professionals it seems just a beautiful part of the concept!
Photographer Marie of Lil Elements explains, “I love deer, just adore how majestically beautiful they are. With their gentle spirit and gorgeous brown eyes, I was inspired to do a woodland theme. The deer was the main element keeping it light and simple. The beautiful sunshine produced a nice light gold shining through the trees. The colour palette used was light pinks, whites, greens and browns. The style of the shoot was to capture the whimsical lightness of an early morning in the woods.”
Marie teamed up with model Indigo May, stylist Ruffles & Bells – Event Styling and Planning, makeup artist Sophie Knox Makeup Artist, hair stylist Beauty Within Makeovers, florist Wunderplant and cake designer Regnier Cakes. Together with gowns from The Bridal Atelier and furniture & props from Poppy Jean, they created a whimsical woodland wedding inspiration shoot.
Marie remarks, “The amazing stylist Eliska from Ruffles & Bells – Event Styling and Planning helped create this shoot bringing my vision to life. Her creative mind saw the idea of a simple, elegant, whimsical and playful breakfast theme which I adore so much. We want to welcome summer days of weddings and show mornings can be beautiful. A turn away from conventional lunches and dinners, breakfast in the mornings are important. The light from the sun can bring out the most amazing sense of a remarkable day to remember. I had the pleasure of working interstate for the first time and was so excited with how Melbourne was going to welcome me. The shoot was around the stunning sceneries of Yarra Valley.”
Wunderplant created the stunning floral arrangements for the shoot. “The amazing florist Wunderplant did such a creative job on the floral crowns as we wanted the model to look like she was wearing antlers. Wunderplant used some interesting flowers and even thorns for the crown and the bouquets, some of them were native flowers which suited the woodland backdrop.”
All furniture and props came from the delightful Poppy Jean. “Along with the talented team, Poppy Jean brought in the most stunning real antlers and adorable furniture props to the shoot. We couldn’t have done this photo shoot without them, the rustic yet modern pieces brought out playfulness of the theme. Just check out those pretty pastel pink cups! ”
The best inspiration shoots involve cake, Marie remembers, “Regnier Cakes made such beautiful sweets for the breakfast table, who can say ‘no’ to sweets!. The tarts, mini cakes, jar desserts and many more were just so adorable and a very nice touch to the setting. I couldn’t take my eyes off them. I just knew if I were to taste one, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from having another.”
Hair and makeup added the finishing touch says Marie. “Sophie Knox Makeup Artist brought how I envisioned an enchanting lady to life with soft natural make-up along with the incredible hair stylings of Candice from Beauty Within Makeovers.”
Finally, the “bride” was dressed in gorgeous gowns from The Bridal Atelier. Marie noting, “The gowns were so gorgeous, they are just to die for! Bridal Atelier brought such exquisite gowns that showcases playfulness and softness of the theme. Each dress was different with the other, with layers of lace, tulle, and embroidered beadings. One of my favorite dresses had a pink ombre petal textured bodice that perfectly contrasts the edgy-ness of the woods and forest. ”
