There’s something incredibly special about a wedding where the couple is truly at the centre of everything. For Rosie and Bhanu, it was never about grand gestures, but about meaning and connection. From a proposal that marked the beginning of a new chapter in their home to a ceremony shaped by family and tradition, every moment felt thoughtful. Steph from Acacia and Grace Photography documented it all in a breathtaking way only she could’ve created.
Like the many classic romances of old, Rosie and Bhanu’s tale began at work. He bravely asked Rosie out for coffee one day, and soon their bond grew into something truly special.
Bhanu proposed to Rosie the same day they got the keys to their dream home, tying two milestones into one special day!
Rosie’s beautiful dress here is from the Sposa Group. Complete with a stunning strapless sweetheart neckline, flowing train and subtle draping across the bust.
The colour palette for the day was full of soft pinks, greens and plenty of fresh, bright white. Rosie’s bouquet was full of white long-stem calla lilies tied with a white ribbon from West Row Botanica.
Their ceremony took place at the stunning Margaret Whitlam Pavilion in Canberra. Both Rosie and Bhanu wanted a place full of fresh greenery with that classic look. The views overlooking the National Arboretum were just the cherry on top!
Rosie walked down the aisle with her parents, as a violin, cello and piano version of “Moon River” by Maz Blumentrath, Ella Rohwer, and Sophie Moser floated through the air. “You need to hear this, it will make you cry!”
In a beautiful fusion of Sri Lankan and Western traditions, Rosie and Bhanu’s ceremony was simple yet meaningful. “It included a blessing from our parents and the pinky tie ritual,” she explained. “Also, do personal vows, take the time to write them and say them to your partner. It was the most memorable part of my day.”
Steph from Acacia and Grace Photography was the perfect person to capture this day; Rosie couldn’t agree more! “She is FABULOUS. She is the kindest, sweetest person you will need on the day. She is not forceful and didn’t make any moments awkward. I would highly recommend her to everyone. The photos were amazing, and she listened to all the details I wanted.”
The top five things that made this classic wedding so special for Bhanu and Rosie included:
“1. Our loved ones
2. Our personal vows
3. The personal touches/details
4. Our couples’ portraits
5. The shared moments with guests.”
They later moved their party to Hotel Realm for the reception. And with the incredible selection of food, their guests couldn’t have been happier. “The venue also matched the theme of the ceremony.”
If there was any vendor that deserved a shoutout for their incredible work at Rosie and Bhanu’s wedding, it was Mickey Sulit Music! “Her voice again was amazing. She was recommended to me by word of mouth, and I am so glad I chose her. Putting in words doesn’t do it justice; you need to hear it yourself.”
A huge congratulations to Rosie and Bhanu! Thanks to Acacia & Grace Photography for not only capturing this beautiful day, but also for sharing it with us today.
