When the wedding takes place on the farm where one of you grew up, it’s bound to mean a little extra. For Meg and Jack, their spring celebration was layered with memory and plenty of fun: from a ceremony surrounded by canola fields to a reception filled with laughter. With heartfelt details, relaxed country charm and photography by Anne Cooper that captures the emotions beautifully, we’re so excited to share all the details!

Like a scene straight out of a movie, Meg and Jack locked eyes across the dance floor of their local pub, and they’ve never looked away since!

Jack proposed just after they’d finished a crop tour. As they walked up the hill overlooking the family farm, their golden retrievers by their sides and a combination of cheese and beer in hand, it was a moment they’ll never forget.

Jack and his wedding party wore classic black tuxedos from Peter Jackson, perfectly contrasting the rustic setting. “They all looked timeless and provided the fun!”

Alongside her wedding party, Meg looked radiant in her strapless gown. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful butter yellow Bec and Bridge dresses to match the spring farm vibe of the day. “I’d chosen a butter yellow colour for them, but let each of the girls pick a style that suited them best. We paired the dresses with white pointed-toe heels, and they looked absolutely stunning!”

Jack’s parents’ family farm was the perfect venue for their spring wedding, made even more special because it’s not only where he grew up but also where he now works. “He has such a love for the farm, and it meant the world to us to share our day there with all our favourite people.”

The final piece of their wedding party was their four adorable flower girls! Dressed in pink Juni pieces with sparkly sandals and matching bows. Another adorable addition to the day was Meg and Jack’s two beautiful golden retrievers as their ring bearers.

With her father on her arm, Meg walked down the aisle as the Kina Grannis version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” floated through the spring air.

Surrounded by the canola fields and led by their celebrant, Loved By Lou, their ceremony was everything they’d hoped. “Our wonderful celebrant, Lou, set the tone perfectly; she brought such warmth, joy and a sense of fun to the day. We wanted the ceremony to feel light-hearted yet full of love, laughter and genuine emotion. Two beautiful readings were shared by Jack’s sister and my cousin, “The Wedding Poem” by Whitney Hanson and “Everything I Know About Love” by Dolly Alderton, with a personal twist. Surrounded by our family and friends, it felt like a celebration of love in such a beautiful way,” Meg shared.

As one would expect, after experiencing a day as heartwarming as theirs, Meg couldn’t pick out one special moment. “Everything about the day felt so special, it’s hard to pick just one story! We did have a roaming mic during the reception though, and that was pretty funny. Some of the things people came up with on the spot had everyone laughing!”

Each and every moment and detail from this spring wedding was as magical as they could have ever hoped. “It is so hard to pick a favourite detail, from getting ready with the girls in the morning to the ceremony, the reception, and even sneaking away for photos with Jack, every part of the day felt like an absolute dream. I also seriously don’t know how to pick a favourite photo, Anne does such an incredible job which makes it impossible to pick.”

For Meg, the best part of planning their sunshine wedding was spending that time with Jack. “Planning something you have always dreamed of with your partner is something so special, bringing ideas to life and seeing it all come together on the day.”

Anne Cooper was the photographer for Jack and Meg, capturing them in her authentic, vibrant style. “She was just incredible. She was so warm and easygoing, and made us feel completely comfortable from the start. She went above and beyond to capture every special moment. We honestly don’t know how she made it look so effortless, especially with a big bridal party!”

With the help of Flora Creative Studio in Temora, Meg used a mix of white lisianthus, white stocks, white asters, baby’s breath and green berzelia. “I loved how simple and classic the combination was. I didn’t want too much, as we were surrounded by canola and Jack’s mum’s garden was already full of beautiful blooms.”

The four things that made this spring wedding even more special were:

“1. Having it on Jack’s family farm was so special.

2. The ceremony by the canola fields was beautiful, and having all our family and friends there made it even better.

3. The marquee reception in the garden had such a relaxed, fun vibe, just how we wanted it.

4. A favourite part was photos at golden hour, it was nice to have that quiet moment together and just take it all in.”

Jack and Meg DIY’d mini tambourines with their last name on them for guests to shake as they entered the reception, and to use throughout the night as they pleased.

When it comes down to advice, someone in Meg’s life actually shared the perfect piece the week of their wedding, sharing: “Someone told me the week of our wedding to make sure you soak up every minute of the day, and the lead-up to it, and it really stuck with me. The day goes by so quickly, so take it all in, don’t stress about the little things, and just enjoy every moment. Having a wedding planner was also one of the best decisions we made. Emma from The Barn Events was absolutely incredible; she made the entire lead-up as stress-free as a wedding can be and ensured everything ran seamlessly on the day.”

“I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz was their first dance song, performed live by their musician Chad Croker. “Chad sang it perfectly (even though Jack accidentally dropped me mid-spin!) He then led into “Iris” by Dean Lewis for the father–daughter dance, which was such a special moment.”

Thanks to Anne Cooper Photography for sharing this gallery with us, and congratulations to Meg and Jack on bringing their vision to life!
