Deep in the heart of Crystal Creek Rainforest, Jamie and Kristian had their intimate, fairy-tale-like rainforest wedding. Their journey began with a bit of matchmaking magic, and led them to this magical celebration. With nature as their backdrop and love in the air, this day was filled with dreamy gowns, sentimental heirlooms, and the gentle sound of rain blessing their vows beneath a centuries-old fig tree. All captured under the talented eye of Kinfolk Visuals!
Jamie worked with Kristian’s best friend, who decided to try their hand at being cupid and set them up! “My friend invited us both out one night – we met and hit it off instantly. I stayed at Jamie’s that night, and we’ve been inseparable since,” shared Kristian.
It was Christmas morning in 2022 that Jamie proposed with a beautiful engagement. “Surrounded by family, I opened a Christmas present from Jamie, which had a beautiful engagement ring inside. I, of course, said yes!”
For their something borrowed, Jamie’s mum Jodie gifted two items. To Jamie, she handed her a flower crown from her own wedding in the 80s. And to Kristian, she lent her a bracelet to complete her look.
Like many brides, the idea of dress shopping for Jamie and Kristian was more exciting than the actual shopping itself. Quickly becoming overwhelmed, these two love birds couldn’t have been more thankful for their bridal assistant from The Bridal Company for conquering that anxiety and providing options to get started. Kristian wore a stunning ivory satin gown with buttons down the back. “It was the first and only dress I tried on,” she explained. “I paired it with ivory boots from Charles & Keith, feather earrings and gold jewellery.”
Jamie tried on a few more options but kept coming back to the very first ethereal gown she tried. Her beautiful blush satin and ivory gown was covered in embellished lace leaves, perfectly transforming her into a fairy princess for their rainforest wedding. She finished her look with a pair of ivory Mary Jane’s and gold and pearl jewellery.
Wanting an intimate gathering, Jamie and Kristian only invited their close friends and family to this rainforest wedding. Guests dressed in gorgeous earth tones to match the natural surroundings of Crystal Creek.
The ceremony took place within Crystal Creek Rainforest, on the banks of the pristine creek under an incredible 400-year-old Blue Quandong Fig tree. The wonderful team at Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat took care of all of the ceremony set-up and catering post-ceremony!
The beautiful bouquets and flowers you can see throughout this gallery were hand-picked from the grounds of Crystal Creek Rainforest, keeping true to their botanical theming of the day.
Both Jamie and Kristian walked down the aisle with their fathers as “Just You And I” by Tom Walker floated through the air.
Led by Gwen from Carefree Ceremonies, the ceremony was short and sweet – exactly as they wanted. “I hope people felt the love in the air,” shared Kristian.
Dan and Ellie from Kinfolk Visuals took care of all things lens-focused for this rainforest wedding, and Jamie and Kristian couldn’t have been happier with the outcome! “Dan is down to earth, very personable, with the ability to ease all nerves and make you feel perfect on your fairytale day.”
The top five things that made their rainy rainforest wedding so special included:
“1. Marrying the love of my life,
2. Having an intimate wedding,
3. The beautifully rainy day,
4. Spending time in nature,
5. Seeing and feeling all of the love around.”
As Kristian and Jamie cut into this stunning rustic cake from The Bumble Bakery, they’d like to share their advice for future married couples planning their own weddings! “Chill out and enjoy every moment.”
For Kristian, the best part of the day was after a day full of love and laughter with their guests; she finally got to spend some quality time with her wife!
Please join us in congratulating Jamie and Kristian on this magical rainforest wedding! And thanks to Kinfolk Visuals for capturing and sharing these wonderful moments with us.
