Clinton and Diego’s romantic winter wedding at Glenworth Valley was a celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Glenworth Valley, their intimate ceremony and reception perfectly blended timeless elegance with personal touches that reflected their unique story. From the dramatic running of the horses to their fun-filled lip sync battle, every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a day that was as heartwarming as it was memorable. With only 50 of their closest family and friends in attendance, Clinton and Diego’s wedding was a true testament to the beauty of love shared in a cozy, moody winter setting. We can’t wait to share their beautiful day with you on Polka Dot You today!

We met with a cheeky swipe right which led to a fantastic first date hiking in Bouddi National Park where we chatted up a storm. I later learnt that Diego didn’t completely understand me until we had been together for around 6 months.

This one’s a doozy! Diego had to specific requests don’t propose before we’d been together a year and don’t do it Christmas Day. Well, 11 months to the day, we had had an amazing day celebrating Christmas with my family, and it just felt right. So, I had my nephew make a ring out of loom bands and that night on a walk along the beach, I scamper off to write marry me using seaweed, called to Diego and asked him. At the time, I thought he’d said no as he pulled me to my feet all embarrassed. Turns out he’d said yes but was worried, because our friend was upset on the other end of the beach. Two days later, we moved into a new apartment, and he asked why I was sad – I answered by saying he’d said no, so I was processing. Apparently he’d said yes and I hadn’t heard, so I went and got the actual ring and there was laughter all around at the entire situation.

Clinton – I wore a custom made black 3 piece 1920s style suit with silver buttoned details and Diego wore a dark green 3 piece suit with a black cape. Both suits were very us and were accentuated the greens of our venue and the nature surrounding us.

Our venue had everything we were looking for, a place which could cover it all with delicious food, incredible staff and a timeless beauty with a sandstone fireplace, a large outdoor balcony and views of the landscape. It is also the only venue in Australia which has a ‘running of the horses’ where 250 horses run behind the couple during photos.

We didn’t have an official theme but we coordinated around our location at Glenworth Valley to create a timeless and classic winter wedding. We kept it intimate with only fifty guests too, so we could really spend time with our nearest and dearest.

We did the a lot of the small things like eucalyptus cones and decor for the tables. My incredible sister-in-law made our wedding cake, at such a busy time, it was great to have all the support.

We both walked down the aisle, I was escorted by my mum and Diego by his eldest sister. Diego walked second to have his moment haha. It was truly beautiful, we had an amazing singing duo Ben and Vee, playing the guitar and singing a Spanish song we both love called “Algo Mas.”

We didn’t have an official bridal party; however, we had our two eldest nieces read a poem each and act as our signatories. Both girls wore a muted rose-pink jumpsuit which they could style differently at the top. They looked gorgeous!

I can’t recall the exact readings, but we had a Winnie The Pooh reading and another one read by our nieces. I do remember the ceremony was stunning and beautifully coordinated by our celebrant, Toni. We both wrote our vows and had them intermingled with the legal components and a telling of our story. When we signed the certificates, we put everything into a time capsule, with some wine and a letter to open later.

I’m not sure if Diego had any heirloom pieces, but I was given an old handkerchief of my grandfather’s to carry with me in my jacket pocket. It felt very special to have those already passed with you on a special day.

Anica was incredible, so it is difficult to choose one favourite photograph, but there’s one during our ceremony at the lookout and Diego’s cape was thrown into the wind as we kissed. I love the drama and pure serenity in that moment.

Honestly, I describe the wedding as the best and most expensive Christmas. It was such and amazing day filled with joy and love, but it passes by too quickly that it’s hard to focus on the details. It was just holistically a day to remember.

We both had the pleasure of working with Anica in a previous job and just love her style and timeless quality she brings to photography. I would recommend her, and have done, to everyone.

Both Anica – our wedding photographer and our celebrant, Toni, plus our incredible venue staff just made our day seamless!

5 things that made the wedding special were:

  1. Our friend’s and family
  2. The food
  3. The horses
  4. The lip-sync
  5. The fun and laughter

I think between the lip-sync, the beautiful speeches, the horses running, the incredible food. The day was simply perfect!

Diego – I remember how all our friends and family from Australia and Spain there for us were, they made our day what it was.

In the lead up to the wedding, don’t stress the small stuff because on the actual day none of it matters. Everything just seems to fall into place.

A heartfelt thank you to Clinton (with a little help from Diego) for sharing the beautiful details of your amazing wedding celebration. From the picturesque “running of the horses” to the fun and joy-filled moments that made your day so unique, it has been an absolute pleasure to feature your big day. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and even more unforgettable memories together!
