Taking the something blue theme and bringing it to another level, Ebony and Mitchell brought their dream garden wedding to life last winter. This dreamy wedding didn’t leave a single eye dry throughout the night and was not only a celebration of love; but also a celebration of life. To capture the day in all of its blue, dreamy essence, Created by G, the photographer part of the dream team of vendors.

Mitchell and Ebony met when they were in high school – and they are just the sweetest high school sweethearts we’ve ever seen! When they went on a holiday to see their family last year, they took a hike in one of their favourite spots. When they reached the summit that looked out onto the ocean, Mitchell got down on his knee and proposed to Ebony!

For her florals, Ebony wanted something a bit different. So, being a florist herself, she asked her boss at Unveiling Poppy to create an arrangement for her. “I gave her my colour palette – which was blue and earthy oranges, blush and white – and she created some absolutely gorgeous designs for me!”

Ebony wore a white gown from Sentani Boutique with floral appliqué, causing the fabric to shimmer slightly in the sunshine. The A-line fit, fitted bodice and long train created a beautiful effect as she glided throughout the day. To finish off her outfit and add something borrowed, she wore her Ma’s jewellery that her Pa had given her when they were newly married.

Their venue for the day was the beautiful Coolibah Downs Private Estate on the Gold Coast. “You can hear the birds chirping all day long. The getting-ready homestead has charm and character with plenty of photo opportunities. There were multiple spaces to hold the ceremony, but we chose the “croquet lawn”. There is a beautiful stone chapel on site as well. The reception space is a large enclosed marquee on the property, with permanent dreamy fairy lights and chandeliers to create a very lux and romantic atmosphere when night falls.”

With the sunshine-filled garden ceremony ready, Ebony and her wedding party headed to the space. To walk down the aisle, she walked with her father on her arm. “Our favourite detail was seeing my beautiful husband shed some tears when I was walking down the aisle. The ceremony was really special, very emotional and intentional.” Unfortunately, Mitchell’s mum had passed away only weeks before his wedding, so they took advantage of the event to create a meaningful celebration of their love and her life.

Mitchell wore a black suit with a floral tie and pocket square that matched Ebony’s bouquet. His best friend and best man wore a matching suit, but his tie matched the Maid of Honours dress instead. Ebony’s MOH was her sister, who wore a beautiful smokey blue Revelry dress featuring puff sleeves and an A-line cut that matched the bride.

Their photographer, Created by G, took them aside portraits as guests made their way to the reception space. “Our photographer has been one of the highlights! Georgia is passionate about what she does, and the talent she possesses is incredible! She was everywhere and was a great director, too – a great quality to have in a photographer!” Ebony described. “Our favourite photos were definitely the ones of us in front of the stone chapel!!”

The most important advice Ebony and Mitchell want to leave future married couples with is this: “Prepare for marriage – not just the wedding. The wedding is only for a day; marriage is for life.”

At the reception marquee, they filled the space with dreamy fairy lights and chandeliers, creating a romantic and enchanting atmosphere once the sun went down. The table settings were DIY’d by Ebony and Mitchell themselves, along with the table runners and candles they provided.

A huge thanks to Created by G for capturing and submitting this dreamy, something blue-themed wedding. And congratulations to Ebony and Mitchell on your wonderful celebration of life and love.
