Britt and Allana started their relationship the modern way (Tinder!), and have been inseparable ever since. So, in the crisp autumnal air, they brought their friends and family together to witness and celebrate their gorgeous rustic wedding. To perfectly capture the day, Belle Martin Photography was behind the camera.

For these two, it was love at first putt. “We both rocked up in a white Toyota RAV4 and wearing very similar clothing! We played mini golf (Britt kicked Allana’s butt), had dinner, and walked around the local lake.”

After six months of dating, Britt proposed. “We’d spoken about it so much that Britt decided to propose on Allana’s birthday in 2021 – mainly so she wouldn’t see it coming but also so she didn’t forget the date of the proposal because she forgets EVERYTHING!!! Britt had her friends set up a beach picnic with fairy lights, cushions and the works, whilst Britt took Allana to the footy to watch an Essendon game (Allana’s fave team). We made our way to the picnic after the game, and the rest is history. Allana didn’t see it coming and was truly surprised – a beautiful moment!”

It was really important for this couple to involve their loved ones in any way possible throughout the day. One of these special elements was the rustic wedding sign created by Brittany’s dad. “He is a sign writer (old school, by hand), and we knew straight away we wanted him to be part of our special day by creating that for us.”

Brittany and Allana found their Leah S Designs online and decided to head in-store to try some potential wedding options. “We walked in and picked a few dresses each to try on – Britt put the first one on, and that was it, that was the dress, so she didn’t need to try any other on. Allana tried on the dress she liked online, and as soon as she tried it on, she fell in love with it and thought, “What’s the point of trying anything else on?”. We both ordered the dresses then and there – in total, a 30-45-minute experience! Surely some sort of world record for wedding dress shopping (and that was with two brides). The team at Leah S Designs were the best so the whole experience was amazing!”

The wedding party was kept small, with just their brothers. “We had our brothers as ‘Bridesmen’ as we have one brother each.” They kept the attire simple: tan chinos, brown boots/belts and white button-down shirts. Each brother wore a boutonniere that matched his sister’s bouquet.

As a cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Haley Reinhart played, Britt walked down the aisle with her mum and dad and waited for Allana to arrive. Allana walked down the aisle with her mum and dad on either arm as the music continued.

Their ceremony was short and sweet – exactly as they wanted it. “We wanted it to be not very traditional. And we got exactly that. Our celebrant, Kellie Eddy, was the absolute best. It was the perfect balance of sweet but funny.”

To complement the rustic style of their wedding, Mewburn Park Homestead was the perfect venue. After just seeing the virtual tour, there was no question – and they booked it right away! “We knew we had to have our wedding there. It’s just stunning! The fact you can choose almost anywhere on the property for the ceremony was a massive selling point, as was the fact that they had an undercover option (which we ended up needing due to it raining on our wedding day),” Britt and Allana explained. “They also have the absolute BEST team of people at Mewburn. Adam and Julia are the most amazing people; we couldn’t have had anyone better help us organise and run our day!! I could go on and on for pages – Mewburn simply does weddings the best!”

Belle Martin was the photographer Britt and Allana chose for the day, and it’s no secret that they loved her work. “Where do we even start? Again, just the absolute best person to work with! We love her so much! Britt attended a friend’s wedding where Belle was the photographer and as soon as we got engaged, she messaged Belle to organise catching up for a coffee to discuss all things wedding-related,” Allana beamed. “As soon as we left that coffee date with Belle – I was sold, and we booked with her that night. Belle is so, so good at her job, super professional but the warmest and friendliest person ever. She captured our day perfectly. We wanted our photographer to capture us for us (2 goofy, weirdos), and she did just that. It was so easy and natural with Belle – didn’t even feel like we were being photographed, we were just being ourselves. And every single picture we have is STUNNING! We still haven’t put together an album or prints as we truly cannot decide which ones want to display at home – that’s how good Belle is! Can’t recommend her highly enough!”

Because Brittany is allergic to many different flowers, they opted for artificial flowers from Desflora. “Desflora were amazing to work with!! Super friendly, so professional and just a bunch of legends. We truly got so lucky with all of our vendors! Our flowers looked like the real deal anyway, and now we get to have them on display at home to look at every day which is super cool!”

They chose to get ready together to have some quality alone time before the day got too busy. “We hate drama and fuss, so we decided to just have the 2 of us at the venue, enjoying a grazing platter and a few drinks whilst we were getting ready. We had Britt’s sisters and mum come and get hair and makeup done before they headed back to their accommodation. We then had our brothers join us closer to the ceremony to get ready with us – was a really special day! We just wanted a super relaxed and chill vibe because that’s us and that’s exactly what we got!”

They had lots of help from their friends and family throughout the day – and loved every second of it! “Our big thing was having people close to us being involved in the day as they know us so well. Allana’s friend made us a beautiful and delicious wedding cake, we had friends of ours help Britt decorate on the day, and one of them MC’d (and nailed it). So it was a really special time to have everyone we love involved in some way.”

The reception was equally as relaxed as the ceremony, with a more subtle rustic atmosphere. “Outside of the flowers and our wedding sign (done by my dad) we did most of the decorating. The venue is so stunning that we wanted to keep it super simple – we had candles in jars, some decorative flowers, a Polaroid board, disposable cameras, and some fun shades to take pics with; it was perfect!” The only formality they included for their reception was a few speeches at the very beginning – and no first dance. They got straight into the good food, great drinks and even better – a night of dancing!

Planning an event like this isn’t the easiest thing to complete, but Brittany had no trouble bringing together all these amazing elements. “Britt loves being organised so she enjoyed the whole process and loved all aspects of the planning. We were ready to go with a few months to go and were just waiting for the day so planning was easy!”

Their favourite elements of the day? “Seeing all our friends and family together to help us celebrate our special day – that was really cool!” they explained. And: “Having AMAZING vendors!! The venue! Being able to marry your best friend, and getting ready together and having a super chill morning.”

Congratulations Brittany and Allana on your beautiful wedding! And a huge thanks to Belle Martin Photography for capturing and submitting this magical day.
