Sunken Garden, University of Western Australia
Sunken Garden, University of Western Australia is described as “An idyllic amphitheatre with gardens, ponds and terraced lawn. The seated capacity here is 300 with guests able to enjoy your ceremony from naturally terraced seats overlooking the lawn and surrounded by trees.” For guests in wheelchairs – “The centre of the Sunken Garden has ramp access except for two steps. Wheelchair users will likely need assistance to navigate the space.” There is an accessible toilet close by in Winthrop Hall.

Caves House, Yallingup features extensive heritage gardens, terraces and the Winery Garden which is not only perfect for your ceremony but cocktail-style style receptions as well. For your reception up to 300 guests standing can enjoy the gardens in luxury under a marquee or in the open air, or how about the Emily Rose Terrace where your guests can be seated under huge old Moreton Bay fig trees in dappled shade and surrounded by rose bushes. Indoors there is a choice of rooms choosing from spaces to seat up to 96 guests or intimate celebrations of 16 people.

Taking care of everything from the ceremony to honeymoon accommodation in one location, Mandoon Estate is a picturesque venue by the river amongst the vineyards. With a purpose-built function centre and menu created by an internationally renowned chef with “award-winning wines and hand-crafted boutique beers and ciders”, your guests will enjoy the ambience created by this beautiful venue.

Cottesloe Civic Centre is situated right by the beach where you may have your ceremonies by the Arch Monument, or the Summer House (Rotunda); but our favourite would be the Sunken Lawn. There are other areas to choose from for a wedding outside or inside in the Memorial Hall with its jarrah floorboards and stage facilities.

Surrounded by stunning limestone walls, the Quarry Amphitheatre is in a natural bushland setting with views to the city skyline. Ultimo Catering + Events will create a personalised modern menu using local produce where your guests will relax in a marquee under the stars. Private dressing rooms are available for the wedding party, and there is free onsite parking.

Tropical Grove Gardens, UWA have been a favourite with WA couples for its shady lush surroundings – the perfect place for your ceremony. 150 guests standing can be accommodated here and there is even a tree known as the Honeymoon tree located here. The ground is compacted earth which is accessible for most wheelchairs, with an accessible toilet close by in Winthrop Hall.

With a waterfall, a winding lake, gardens and a bridge crossing, Harold Boas Gardens is a popular place for wedding ceremonies. Paid outdoor parking and wheelchair accessibility is available.

Fremantle Roundhouse was built in 1830 and is the oldest building still standing in WA. For your information, “Concerning the Round House’s previous usage as a Colonial and Aboriginal prison we do not permit any service or ceremonies to take place within its walls”. However, the lawn area is available for ceremonies. A ceremony on a nice mild sunny day in Spring with the backdrop of the Roundhouse providing a great location for photos, with the views over Fremantle and the beach an added extra!

Mosman Park Golf Club has a 9-hole golf course and is situated high up with views over the Swan River with panoramic views from the city to Fremantle. A function room for 100 seated guests opens up to a deck after a ceremony on the lawn with those river views. The Club has arrangements with several caterers so you have plenty of choice for your wedding day feast.

Woodloes Homestead is nestled on the banks of the Canning River in Cannington. There is a white and red non-denominational church on the site, with plenty of photo opportunities on the beautiful grounds surroundings. This venue is unlicensed with limited power supply so they only accommodate small, informal gatherings on the grounds after your ceremony.
Gilgara Retreat at Margaret River offers you the option of having your ceremony and reception on-site site as well as accommodation in 5 bedrooms in the Homestead or the self-contained Garden Suites set in beautifully landscaped surrounds. Options for your garden ceremony include under the London plane trees, the lawn or before the weeping willow. A cocktail reception may be arranged in a courtyard behind the homestead, and a sit-down down reception can take place in a marquee on the lawn.

Lamont’s Bishops House is in the heart of the CBD with a blend of the old and the new with towering surrounding buildings blended with a lovely garden and stone walls in the Rose Garden. Other options include cocktails or dining in the heritage garden setting for up to 200 of your closest friends, or inside the heritage-listed house, seating 10-50 guests throughout 4 rooms on 2 levels.

Masonmill Garden has three areas perfect for having your ceremony and reception. Choose from a ceremony and reception in the French Garden with a gazebo with a retractable roof able to seat up to 120 guests, or the Secret Garden for a more intimate ceremony of up to 60 guests.
