Samantha & Daley

Fridays are for gathering with guests under open skies, for marriage under the stars, for beautiful days filled with handmade touches. While some of this can currently seem so far away, as we show off today, to farewell The Local Issue, a day that is all about community.

Amelia Claire Fine Art Photography captured this story, which is simply summed up, in the bride’s words “Relaxed, intimate and all about the people we love”. A beautiful outdoor ceremony, a reception under sparkling lights and the stars, a food truck dinner and a cake of doughnuts. What better ode to Perth and ode to weddings that we’ll eagerly celebrate once again.

The couple who met at Church through friends, became engaged when Daley popped the question on a trip to Barbados. She fills us in “On a trip to meet Daley’s family in his home country of Barbados, he took me on a picnic in a tropical garden cove and asked me to be his best friend forever.”

Love Daley’s look? We do too! Samantha tells “Daley put his entire outfit together himself which let his fun and out-there personality flare.”

The bride found her stunning gown at Brides Selection. “We both love fashion, and for me, it was all about an elegant dress that would complement my figure.”

Those stunning floral details? They were styled by Blooms Of Eden. Says Samantha “The flowers we chose were mainly Australian natives with some softer roses, all light blush colours. Sammy from Blooms of Eden did an incredible job of putting together bouquets that were more than a dream.”

The couple chose Joondalup Resort for their wedding, marrying by the water. “We loved the view of the lake” admits the bride.

Samantha walked down the aisle with her father to “Amazing Grace”.

Samantha and Daley chose a traditional style ceremony, the bride explaining  “Our ceremony was centred about our love for God and the love He displays to us through our relationship together. We included scripture reading and tying of 3 cords around our hands to represent God, and us as individuals all coming together.”

“She’s incredible!” raves Samantha of the couple’s chosen photographer. “We felt so well led by her the entire day, she knew exactly what she was doing and which precious moments to capture. We were so thankful to have her.”

Guests joined the happy newlyweds for an outdoor reception at Slate Cafe.  “We chose the cafe because we were able to do a DIY reception” says the bride. Guests taking home favours with handwritten notes. “We wanted to write individual thank you gifts for people to collect after the reception, it was just a candle and a small card but we were very diligent with writing out each card for each individual.”

Sultan Pepper Food Truck catered the relaxed reception. “Incredible food and an incredible man! Everyone has raved about the food ever since and that’s all we wanted!”

The wedding was filled with handmade decor- all special touches by the bride and groom. “We pretty much did DIY for everything and just pulled in an army of friends to help out with the details, from the chairs at the ceremony to the DJ, carpet, candles, decor, everything!”

The newlyweds took to the dance floor to “Beautiful In White” by Shan Filan. “Only one of us has rhythm and it is definitely not me” laughs Samantha. “I was incredibly nervous but thankful that Daley took the lead and made me feel more comfortable.”

Amelia Claire Fine Art Photography not only captured the stills of the day, as it unfolded, but the film as well.

Congratulations Samantha and Daley! What a joy it was to share your day. Thank you both and thank you to Amelia Claire Fine Art Photography for sharing today’s photographs with us!
