It is always a shock when a wedding business in Australia shuts. The Aussie industry is small and everyone knows one another, so the overnight closure of The Bridal Atelier last week was such a shock to so many. Not the least of which clients are now left without their gowns. If you’ve been affected by the sudden closure of Sydney & Melbourne wedding gown retailer The Bridal Atelier, we’ve put together a mini guide with what you need to do next and the local designers who have put up their helping hand.

If you’ve not been already, you’ll be contacted by the liquidators (Pearce & Heers). Your next step should be getting in touch directly with the designer of your gown to see if they have received any funds for your gown. Many have received orders with just the first names of clients, so have no way of reaching out to you directly. If they have not, you can also attempt a chargeback with your bank.

Several designers have offered up assistance to those affected, and we’ve popped a guide to those offers below.
