There has never been a collection from Canadian designers Truvelle that we haven’t adored, and now, as they unveil their 2023, and as it is their 10th collection, we’re so glad they’ve been designing beauties for us to enjoy, for over a decade!

2023 sees six new gowns added to their design collection and each is as romantic, as beautiful and as true to Truvelle’s roots as those that came before. Frances, Georgia, Pandora, Parker, Kaslo, and Rose, each named for streets in the design house new neighbourhood in Vancouver, pay homage to where the brand has been, and the path laid ahead. The collection describes as “both romantic and sultry, classic and bold”. The laces on gowns like Parker, and Pandora are modern yet ethereal. Rose a classic silhouette brought to life with beautiful poppy organza. Even “Kaslo” fuses that feminine, modern ethereal design in a brand-new way. And aside from the fabrics – there are the details. Beautiful scooped necklines, illusion backs, and detachable sleeves, all add a little something to these pieces.

Says founder Gaby Bayona “The Truvelle bride has always been a romantic, but this season, we wanted to give her a more sensual side.” Our picks? Well, we can’t go past the floral adorned bodice of “Parker” which brings to life a simple silhouette and transforms it. But the subtle beauty of “Rose” with its poppy organza? Also a winner in our eyes.

With diversity as a huge commitment to what they do (the brand size ranges between 0-26 and each gown is photographed on both a size 2 and size 20 model), it’s just as well the beauty of the design holds.  And with Truvelle, they’re transparent about how they do it. Each gown, when sized up, has customisations to make it comfortable and supportive – and it’s all aimed at you the buyer. Extra boning, raising necklines and back for more support and silhouettes that are comfortable and flexible to all shapes. You know you’re going to be looked after here.
