Today, we are beyond thrilled to launch The Feel Good Wedding Podcast!
It’s taken two years to get here, but really, this one? It’s been fifteen years in the making. We started rumbling about it, and then we changed our name, we built a website, and we went through epically long lockdowns.
But we finally made it. This is a podcast born out of your stories. Out of the way you continually inspire us with the detail, the thought, and the meaning behind your day. We love a good chat, and we’ve been doing it for years, so as we celebrate fifteen years of weddings, we wanted to dive a little deeper. We wanted to have conversations not just about the pretty, which we adore, but about what matters beyond that.
There are interviews with our Polka Dot Wedding couples, tips and tricks from our very own beloved Polka Dot Wedding members, business inspo from fellow pros and experts (for those of you in the industry) and of course, plenty of fun.
We have no fancy recording equipment, no polished moments. We’re nervous. We stumble on words, we mess up the sound, and we’re doing it all from the floor of our bedrooms and living rooms (with the heaters off because, noise). But, as with everything Polka Dot Wedding, we’ve never actually been about the polish, we’ve been about the stories.
We’ve dropped three episodes that we can’t wait for you to hear.
Episode 1: Meet Will Burton. Will and John tied the knot in a ceremony at the Sydney Harbour bridge before brunch with friends and an incredible after-party. Will chatted about how he and John fell in love with Australia and the tricky parts about planning the wedding as an LGBTQI+ couple. Listen here.
Episode 2: Ever wondered what scent to wear on your wedding day? We asked Tiktok star, Peta Morton (aka Peta Marine), to dive into wedding scents with us. Peta, who is also studying to be a marine biologist, dives into the science of scent and gives us all the very best tips and tricks she has for choosing your wedding day scent. Finally, she dives into thinking beyond perfume & cologne and scenting your day in its entirety. Listen here.
Episode 3: Wedding pro? We have episodes devoted just to you! In Episode Three, we meet Sydney wedding veteran celebrant and MC Robyn Pattison. We chat with Robyn about her surviving as a wedding celebrant during a pandemic, why she became a wedding MC and how she’s managed to stay authentic in business in a world when being yourself is sometimes not cool.
