If you want your wedding to feel like an epic party, complete with spicy margaritas, then take your cue from Larissa and Taylor, because from their very favourite drink of choice to the pearl beaded gown that was just right for dancing, from the beautiful blooms to a dance floor that was packed all night long, this is the story of Larissa and Taylor and how their wedding, turned into the very best night of their lives. Says Larissa “We wanted the feel of our wedding to be super relaxed but still feel special, we described the vibe as Sunday at the Polo.”

With Azure Creative and the threat of rain holding off long enough for the I do’s, kick back and settle in for this story, dancing shoes are a must! “We loved how our day was authentically us; the atmosphere was so fun. It was intimate and felt like we were on holiday!” remembers Larissa.

These two met “At a dingy RnB club many moons ago”. Larissa admits “I was trying to impress him with my moves but instead broke the included breathalyser.” Taylor knew her very well when he threw her off the scent of a proposal with a midweek adventure. “Taylor wanted to surprise me. So he chooses to catch me off guard with a midweek proposal.
I finished work late and we were meant to go to dinner locally. When I arrived to pick him up he told me to come up as he wasn’t ready. Enraged I dragged myself up the lift in preparation to give him a delightful earful. To my surprise as I opened the door there he was in his Sunday best with our home lit floor to ceiling in candles. I walked in through the ribbons of Polaroids handing down from white helium balloons on our ceiling.
I immediately burst into Kim Kardashian’s ugly cry sobs and maniacally stepped in more candles than I would like to admit. On the table, there was champagne and white roses and a beautiful meal that he prepared (I didn’t even know he could cook) on the table. He also lay this book that had the story of us, which concluded with the sweatiest, sweetest man on one knee.”

Taylor kicked off the casual vibes with a  suit from MJ Bale.  “Taylor also wanted to be more modern and went with a linen cream suit and sneakers” shares Larissa.

Larissa opted for a pearl embellished mini dress from Christie Nicole. She tells ” I fell in love with Christie Nicole’s modern ethereal designs that weren’t your ‘run of the mill’ wedding gowns.”

Larissa walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis, arm in arm with her dad. It was the perfect beginning to the casual ceremony. “We wanted it to be super fun with a side of romance. Taylor brought the tears and I brought the sass which is why we work so well.”

The couple chose Wow Flowers to style the neutral toned floral arrangements for the day. Says Larissa “I wanted to keep with minimal but beautiful flowers and Louise from Wow understood the assignment. The combination of the neutral tones and dried foliage dressed the green of Willow Tree beautifully. Our venue and in particular Nat was the standout! She made all my crazy ideas like the bar and overall look I wanted come true. She has amazing taste and it shows!”

Larissa and Taylor chose just one venue Willow Tree Estate for their day. Larissa explains “The view speaks for itself. We also really wanted everyone to be together and the estate housed 40 of our closest friends and family which made the 3 days sooo magical.”

“Then the weather kept us guessing right to the wire and then at the end we could get married where we always dreamed.”

“Bec was amazing” raves Larissa of her and Taylor’s chosen photographer. “She vibed with us straight away and made the usual camera-shy Taylor so comfortable. She blended in so well it was so seamless I could have sworn she was a guest. I couldn’t have picked a better photographer for our wedding!”

Larissa admits that planning the wedding wasn’t something she loved, so she gives fellow planners this advice.  “Do whatever you want! Don’t listen to anyone else! Be selfish and have fun. Coming from the grinch bride herself! It’s so worth it !!”

One of Larissa’s favourite parts of the night? Spicy margaritas “It isn’t a party without tequila haha” she laughs.

The newlyweds chose “Feels Like Home” by Chantal Kreviazuk for their first dance. Larissa explains “It signifies the feeling of home we feel in each other.”

The biggest of congratulations to you both Taylor and Larissa! Thank you for taking the time to share your stories with us today and thank you to Azure Creative for today’s images.
