When the bride describes the wedding as a “rainbow pastel Disney princess” theme, you know that it’s going to be a feast for the eyes. Kerry-Ann and Cameron inviting just a handful of their favourite people to celebrate their nuptials in a high tea reception that was filled with rainbows, colour and oh so much personality.

From Kerry-Ann’s iconic strawberry wedding dress to the rainbow arch the pair said their vows under, this story, of a couple who really and truly did their day their way, was beautifully captured by Andy Mac Photography.

It was modern-day tech that led them together. “We met online and had our first date at the White Rabbit Gallery” remembers Kerry-Ann. “We were smitten, and officially together the day we met.”

And just like their wedding, the pair became engaged in a very offbeat, but so very “them” way. “We had a lovely chat in August 2020, where Cameron asked me if we wanted to get engaged in Japan (our favourite place, Tokyo Disneyland in the foreseeable future, COVID permitting) or in Australia. In December 2020 we set the date for March 2021, and our “proposal story” is very nontraditional, much like us.

We went opal ring shopping in the Rocks, and a few weeks later we visited White Rabbit Gallery and had bubble tea in the park with butterflies, and he asked me to marry him; even though we had set the date and organised the whole wedding! I see our ring shopping as our proposal story.”

To complement Kerry-Ann’s look, Cameron wore a rainbow-striped shirt he found at Industrie. The shirt paired with a brown Country Road suit and green Brixton hat.

We know you want to know about Kerry-Ann’s incredible look! So here’s a breakdown of what she wore. Aside from that iconic Lirika Matoshi strawberry dress. “The day my wedding dress arrived in the mail, and I tried it on. I cried from happiness, and felt like a beautiful kawaii marshmallow princess. “Kerry-Ann donned a bright red bow headband from David Jones, heart-shaped Ana Luisa jewels, pink platform shoes from Sugar Thrillz found at Dolls Kill and a colourful handbag from Loungefly.

Advice to you, yet to walk down the aisle from Kerry-Ann? “Keep your wedding simple, and organise the day you want. Not the day your family wants. Be unique, and authentic to yourself.”

The couple chose hotel Hydro Majestic Blue Mountains as their venue.

Although the couple did not DIY any wedding day details themselves, they made the most of handmade artisans on Etsy. Guests welcomed to the ceremony with a rainbow printed welcome sign from Words & Flowers, confetti and confetti cones to shower the newlyweds from A Day to Remember Studio and the ceremony table styled with decor from Cloud Den.

Kerry-Ann and Cameron chose Elsie Wren Wildflowers to create the bright and beautiful floral details for the day, “I asked Erin to give us a rainbow ombre flower arch, so we could get married under a rainbow” says Kerry-Ann, the rainbow arch remaining one of her favourite parts of the day.

Cameron’s memory of the day? “Before the ceremony, feeling nervous, and excited. Impatient too, I guess. From the moment I saw my wife, the look of joy on her face. She was glowing, and beautiful. Happier than I’ve ever seen her. I’ll always cherish that.”

Kerry-Ann walked down the aisle by herself to the Beach Boys “God Only Knows”.

Of their ceremony, Kerry-Ann tells “We wanted it to be fun, joyous and intimate. We only had 12 guests, as we wanted our wedding to go ahead regardless of COVID. We were surrounded by our closest friends and family. We had a traditional ceremony, and we wrote our own vows.

Kerry-Ann’s Vows:
Growing up, I was taught that love is big. Big gestures, loud declarations and expensive moments. Over the last 4 years with you Cameron, I have learnt that love is not loud. Love is in the quiet moments when no one is watching. Love is consistency, love is showing up for the person you love and love is a complete vulnerability with your partner; even when you are tired, scared, sick, or sad. Love waits. Love is patient, knowing happiness, joy and wholesome moments are ahead. Love shows up, even when love feels lost or overwhelmed, or broken. Because real love, true love is unconditional. Love knows that no matter the circumstances, the most important thing is each other.

In a world of inconsistency, you are my consistency. You have shown up for me, every day. Your unwavering support, encouragement and faith in me; in the worst times, have made the best times possible, and have built a foundation for our future. And in this quietness, we have contentedness, laughter and happiness together. There is nothing more important to me than you, our love and our family. Every moment you have been there. Trusting me, trusting us. And I really don’t know where I’d be without you. Your love is everything. You are my best friend, my soulmate and my truest love.

My vows to you are simple. I will show up for you every day, no matter what. You are the love of my life, and we will navigate this scary world together, every step of the way. You are my family. I love you, Cameron.”

And then, it was time to celebrate! “When we got married, we walked down the aisle together as Mr and Mrs Tape to “Praise You” by Fatboy Slim, and our friends and family threw dried flower confetti on us.”

The couple didn’t look far for their chosen photographer. “He was the only photographer we contacted, as we knew he would capture our happiness and unique wedding.”

Guests gathered for a high tea reception filled with cake and delicious treats. The space adorned with rainbow place cards from Words & Flowers and a rainbow “Mr & Mrs” sign by Mu Creatives. Book details were also added in honour of the bride in training to become a librarian.

A big congratulations on your marriage Kerry-Ann and Cameron! What an absolute delight it was to share your beautiful day. Thank you to you both, and thank you to Andy Mac Photography for sharing today’s beautiful day with us.
