We all know weddings are going to look slightly different for years to come, and we’re even more on board with the idea of two-part weddings. For Cass & Ryan, a two-part celebration was exactly how they set out their day. Marrying with just family in a private room of their favourite restaurant, they celebrated with a decadent three-course lunch, before inviting more family and friends to join them for a cocktail party reception at the very place they met.
And if you think that’s all to love, think again, because as these images, captured beautifully by Where The Heart Is show, there is so much more. From the bride’s incredible mint green wedding gown to the inclusion of her children throughout the day. Strap yourselves in for this beauty!
After meeting at The Prahran Hotel (aptly, the couple returned there to celebrate their marriage) Ryan popped the question on a trip to Europe. Cass reminiscing “Ryan, my two boys and I were holidaying in Europe and visited the island of Vis in Croatia. We went for a walk to Fort George, a castle that overlooks the sea. When we were sitting down for a drink Ryan produced four envelopes each with our name on it. The card in William’s envelope said “Will”, the card in Sebastian’s envelope read “you”, the card in my envelope read “Cass”. Ryan was last to open his envelope which read “marry me”.”
Cass and Ryan booked a private room at Entrecôte for their ceremony and lunchtime reception. The room was decorated with bunches of fresh hydrangeas by Cass’ friend.
As with much of Cass and Ryan’s wedding, even the walk down the aisle was uncomplicated, says Cass. “My two boys (Seb 13 and Will 10 years old) walked me into the room to meet Ryan.”
Anna Smale officiated proceedings. “Ryan and I wrote our own vows” says Cass. “Our Celebrant was a childhood friend of Ryan’s. She conducted the official part of the service and spoke a little about her friendship with Ryan.”
Guests enjoyed a private three-course luncheon with the happy couple.
Cass’s amazing frock? It was a number by Diida. She says “It was green, pastel green, pastel pink and gold with a tie around the waist.” She paired it with a clutch from A-ESQSUE and Christie Nicolaides earrings.
As the hours ticked by on their day, Cass and Ryan returned to the scene of where they met, the
Prahran Hotel, for a cocktail party reception for friends and family.
The couple added their own formalities to their reception. “I loved celebrating our wedding with my boys” remarks Cass. “The boys wrote a speech together to read at the Prahran Hotel. It was the first time I had heard the speech.
Ryan and I read our vows at the Prahran Hotel for all the guests who did not attend the ceremony.”
Congratulations Cass & Ryan! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. Thank you also to
Where The Heart Is for sharing today’s celebration!
