Celebrating The Cocktail issue means we’re not only celebrating the wedding of every style but all that celebrate a celebratory tipple (which we’re so on board with). Today, we’re taking a trip to the country. An editorial that makes the most of the cooler season in the country, embracing deep autumnal tones like rust-brown, and antique rose and combining them with the freshness of apricot and peach. The result? Utterly modern, utterly unexpected and so on-trend!
Set at the ever stunning Gabbinbar Homestead, wedding planner and stylist Kirsty of Storybook and Co was inspired to break out of the classic romance the historic country property is known for. Playing off the rich autumnal tones, the team created three different settings, to inspire a couple who wants to embrace the season, with something a little unexpected.
Behind the camera? We have Hudson & Natasha Photography and Michael Kelly Films on moving imagery (scroll on for Michael’s film!). The duo captured models Nathan Howe and Carissa Alfaro in pieces from Karen Willis Holmes, Black Jacket Suiting, Little White Couture and Bubish Luxe. The pair (who also worked with, makeup artist Hayley Welk MUA and hairstylist Melanie Halpin Hair to finish their looks) made the most of the country setting as they wandered from the “I Do’s” in front of a custom arched arbour by The Blossom Tree Company, to a celebratory ice cream in front of a balloon (Balloon by TwistedMR) and light up letter backdrop (by Event Letters).
The real statement in this editorial though is the reception. A marvellous cake by The Sweet Society Co echoed those autumnal colours alongside the arched detail, while Laura Elizabeth Design created stationery pieces that pulled the look together while inviting guests to join in the merriment. The table topped with pieces from Storybook and Co (tableware) Prop It Pretty (linens) and Southern Lights Candle Co to complement the earthy blooms carried throughout the shoot, styled by Woods & Bloom. The Whole Bride added finishing touches with beautiful silk ribbon and of course a complementing ring box.
Stylist Kirsty noted “It was an amazing collaboration of creative souls + one, I am so incredibly proud to have been able to bring to life.” What do you think? Inspired to play with something a little different?
