Jessi & Nick
Celebrating their intimate wedding in the rolling country hills of NSW, Jessi and Nick chose a gorgeous winery as the setting for their day. With romantic details and the prettiest ceremony spot under a magnificent old tree, Corinna & Dylan Photography captured every beautiful detail.
Proving that when it’s meant to be, it will be, the bride and groom met in Surfers Paradise after Jessi had finished Year 12. The bride shares, ”After returning to Canberra, our romance naturally cooled as we both got stuck into university. About 8 months later, I was in Lorna Jane in Canberra and struck up a conversation with the sales assistant who turned out to be Nick’s best friend from school. Within two weeks Nick flew down to Canberra to stay with his friend and the rest is history!” Nick proposed on a date night, only having bought the ring that week, which led to a very happy bride-to-be!
Having a strong dislike of trying on clothes, Jessi was not looking forward to the idea of wedding dress shopping! She remembers, ”I went looking for my dress at Erin Clare Bridal with my mum. I tried on a fair few dresses, mostly to work out the style I liked. Sensing my growing exasperation, my mum went to look at dresses in the other room and pulled out a dress which was nothing like anything else I had tried on that day. With nothing to lose, I tried it on and instantly knew it was the one! I always knew I wanted my bridesmaids to wear burgundy and the groomsmen to have navy suits with tan shoes. Lucky for me, Nick was on board with the colour scheme and went with his groomsmen and picked the perfect suits from Tarocash for them to wear! Nick wore his grandfather’s watch, who unfortunately passed away a few years earlier.” The bridesmaids dressed in gowns from Affordable Bridal.
Breathtakingly beautiful, the old tree at Poachers Pantry was the spot for Jessi and Nick’s country ceremony. They tell, ”It was very relaxed and quick! Our celebrant (who later we found out was the same person that signed off on my birth certificate) was absolutely lovely and made everything very easy for us. I asked my best friend Krystal to give a reading which was a poem Nick and I picked out called ‘A Bridge Across Forever’ by Richard Bach.” Both Jessi’s mum and dad walked her down the aisle. The bride says, ”I chose the piano piece, ‘A River Flows in You’ by Yiruma, which is just beautiful and takes me back to high school when I first discovered it.”
All vendors were loved and praised by the bride and groom! Crafting a classic winery wedding came easily with such talented folk! Jessi shares, ”Poachers Pantry were fantastic! My hairdressers were from Hair Flair Boutique and did an amazing job! Boz from Glamour Cakes made our wedding cake and it was the best wedding cake I have ever had! There was barely any left, despite the fact it was a big cake and guests were also served dessert! Our wedding band Something Like This were great, they were so easy to deal with, provided great entertainment during the dinner service and for dancing later on. They even took requests from the guests!”
Romantic and Autumnal, the rolling country hills provided magnificent scenery for the newlyweds to wander around with Corinna & Dylan Photography. Jessi shares, ”Our photographers were absolutely amazing. They captured our day perfectly and all our guests commented on how lovely and fun they were! The way they captured the whole day from getting ready, the bus ride to Poachers Pantry, the ceremony, photos with the bridal party and the reception, was just so stunning and fun!”
Holding both ceremony and reception at Poachers Pantry, the bride and groom loved the stunning country estate and winery. With the evening being enjoyed at Poachers Pantry, Smokehouse Restaurant, the bride’s mum decorated the venue with native flowers from a local flower shop. Jessi tells, ”I am not overly creative so my mum formed the style and look of my bouquets. My mum designed the table layout and decorations. The day before the wedding my mum and I went to the local flower shop and bought flowers that my mum and I (mainly my mum) organised into old bottles. My Nan also hand painted the place cards for the table.”
Simply wanting everyone to have fun, the bride and groom tell, ”Our favourite detail was just the fact we had all our close friends and family with us to celebrate our special day with us. Our photographers were amazing and perfectly captured the atmosphere of our wedding. Our first dance began with me dancing with my dad before he passed me on to Nick. The song I chose for our wedding dance holds a special place in my heart. My dad and I used to love this song and sing it together and throughout all of high school I used to tell my friends that I would have this song as my first dance. The song was ‘High’ by the Lighthouse Family, and my old school friend Miles said to me afterwards ‘wasn’t that the song you said in year 7 you would get married to?”
Thank you to our gorgeous bride and groom for sharing your beautiful wedding day, and congratulations! Thank you also to Corinna & Dylan Photography for your stunning images!
