Amie & Simon

The beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland Forest set the scene for Amie and Simone’s engagement photos. The pair. who were engaged on a trip to the US worked with photographer Peppermint Photography to capture the beginning of the next stage of their lives together with these beautiful photographs.

The couple met while at work, Amie remembering “I was based in Brisbane and Simon in Melbourne. We both weren’t looking and resisted for some time but the attraction was obviously there. We have so much in common but the main thing is that we share very similar life values. For me, my heart melted when Simon spoke about his beloved Gran, we are both very close to our grandmothers.”

On what they love about one another, Amie says “The value of laughing at the small, simple things in life.”

The groom proposed in New York’s Central Park, Amie telling “Simon was working in the US – my best friend Melodee (maid of honour) and I flew over to meet him (our first US trip). Melodee’s luggage went missing – on the second day when it arrived late in the evening, we decided to go out and celebrate! The night escalated quickly and we got back to the hotel at 6am!!

Later that day we had pre-booked a horse and carriage ride through central park. The day was freezing and we were feeling very average from our big night out. The three of snuggled up with blankets on the carriage as the guide took us around the beautiful Central Park. The carriage stopped at “Cherry Hill Fountain”. Simon grabbed me and quickly asked Melodee to take a photo. He pointed behind me and said “wow look at that” and I immediately turned away, when I returned my eyes to him he was on one knee with a huge “fring” (fake-ring). He asked will I marry him to which, of course, I said yes!!
