Happy Monday Dotties! We are all about the flowers today as we kick off a jam-packed week of wedding inspiration!

Our vendor this week loves to spread the love around by packaging up your blooms to give to those in need of a compassionate gesture. It made me think – is there any organisation or person in your life who could do with a kind deed from you around your wedding day? Is there anything from the day that you could donate or just pass on to cheer someone’s day? Take a look at Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for vendors who would love to help you with your wedding day. We have Cinematographers, we have Entertainment, we have Wedding Gifts & Registries and Stationery & Paper Goods – we even have Transport and Menswear! With so many committed vendors to choose from there will be sure to be some whose work you will love to include in your day.

Putting a lot of ‘eco-thought’ as she calls it, into each of her creations, Julia of Itty Blooms & Styling produces not only stunning wedding floral work but does it in a thoughtful way using local produce and sustainable practices to reduce her footprint (and yours) on the world. She uses lots of texture in her work adding wood, fruit, vegetables, berries and interesting foliage to add the extra dimension that makes her work modern and beautiful. At the end of the wedding she can package up your flowers to give to nursing homes, hospitals – anywhere you nominate – to spread the warm feelings of her creations around to those who need them.

We asked Julia of Itty Blooms & Styling five questions in five minutes:

What is your reward after a big working day?

To stand back at see the final result with a sigh of relief. Also topping that off with a glass of vino with the team to say thank you!

Favourite weekend getaway?

Going hiking in the Blue Mountains amongst nature.

What is your most prized possession?

My puppy dachshund Archie. Well, he’s not a puppy anymore but I guess in a mother’s eyes, he’ll always be a puppy. 🙂

Favourite restaurant?

Baccomatto Osteria in Surry Hills. It’s great food, great wines, great service and really easy going.

What do you most enjoy about being in the wedding industry?

Hearing and seeing all the love stories and constantly surrounded by happiness. There is too much suffering in this world so it is nice to know that there is still purity, hope and love in this world.
