There are few better ways to start a wedding ceremony than with your flower boys dancing down the aisle. For Ron and Claire, it set the tone for a spring celebration at Lancemore Lindenderry at Red Hill that was warm and relaxed and all about having all of their favourite people in one place. Jonathan Ong captured every wonderfully personal detail, and now we have the privilege of sharing it with our dear Dotties!
While both studying engineering at university, Ron and Claire first crossed paths, and thankfully they did, because here we are today sharing their modern spring wedding.
Flash forward to a vineyard in Portugal, where Ron knelt down on one knee and presented Claire with a beautiful sapphire ring and an all-important question.
Ron wore a custom tuxedo from a Singapore-based tailor, in a classic black tone with black leather accessories.
Claire wore two dresses across the celebrations: the first was a beautiful scoop-neckline gown with a modern silhouette and trailing skirt. “I didn’t want to spend heaps on a dress I only wore once, and was super happy when the one I loved the most didn’t cost a bomb. I got my second one online!”
Working with Poppy Culture, Claire and Ron had the most perfect, simple florals sprinkled throughout the day. Classic green and white tones, with lilies and satin ribbons to bring it all together.
Lancemore Lindenderry in Red Hill was the perfect venue for their garden ceremony, in its full spring glory. “It was the second venue we visited, and when we saw it, we immediately knew it was the one.”
To kick off the ceremony, Claire and Ron’s flower boys danced down the aisle to “It’s Raining Men”.
Claire walked down the aisle by herself as “My Love, Mine All Mine” was sung live by their musicians, Moonbird, from the Melbourne Entertainment Company.
Ron’s best friend was the celebrant for the couple, which added a special touch to their ceremony. “He was hilarious! We wanted it to be fun! Something memorable, not for us but for our guests, most of whom flew down from all over the world for us,” Claire shared.
Jonathan Ong was the perfect photographer for Ron and Claire’s modern wedding, capturing the bright, warm atmosphere. “Jon captured amazing shots for us, and being Singaporean too, he made us feel very comfortable on the day,” Claire explained.
Five things that made Claire and Ron’s spring wedding so special for them included:
“1. Our friends had a big part to play in our big day
2. Our closest friends and family from all over the world to celebrate with us.
3. The gorgeous venue.
4. We booked out the venue so it felt like a giant slumber party
5. We made our own wedding video!”
Thanks to Jonathan Ong for capturing this beautiful wedding. Huge congratulations to Ron and Claire on this incredible event you put on!
