Ciara & Jonny
I love an escape to the country and the on-point vibes of Ciara and Jonny’s modern Waldara Farm wedding are hitting the sweet spots from the bridesmaids dressed in the most stunning vibrant orange gowns, to the way the gentle sunlight weaves its way through the trees as the happy couple say their vows. Beautifully captured by Whspr.
The beautiful Waldara Farm was chosen for the wedding- hosting both the bridal party, the ceremony and the reception. Ciara explains “Waldara was the first & last venue we saw. We had a few ‘must haves’ including space for the wedding party in high-quality accommodation over the few days, BYO, flexibility with the caterer and a fabulous setting. Waldara ticked every box & more – we still have guests telling us how beautiful the setting was, and we couldn’t agree more! The staff are also amazing & continuously went above & beyond to make sure everything ran like clockwork.”
The bride was lucky enough to have Kara Guildford as her sister in law taking the opportunity to have Kara design her gown. She explains “I knew what I wanted when it came to my dress; simple, beautifully cut & luxurious material. I tried on plenty of dresses but couldn’t find anything I loved – and nothing felt particularly individual. Lucky for me my sister in law (and one of my bridesmaids), Kara Guildford, is a very talented fashion designer so she saved the day & designed a dress just for me. That took the ‘dress experience’ to a whole new level in that it was completely unique & I got exactly what I wanted”. To finish her look, Ciara added a necklace her father had given to her mother on their own wedding day 34 years earlier.
Vivienne Warren officiated proceedings, the couple wanting a ceremony that was quick but personal. Ciara explains “We wanted to keep our ceremony quick & simple but also personal, and our celebrant Vivienne Warren did a wonderful job. We also wanted to involve our parents so my Mum read a poem she had written & Jonny’s Dad told a few stories.”
Ciara remarks “I loved having our friends & family in one place and marrying my favourite person in the world.”
Bouquets of pink flowers with greenery and plenty of natives blooms were created by Paddington Posies. Ciara noting “Along the theme of talented friends, my good friend Emma creates wedding flowers as a side job and she kindly offered to do ours. Emma created amazing centrepieces & table runners as well our bouquets & all the men’s buttonholes – all from a very loose brief!”
Of their photographer, the bride does “Ona did an amazing job capturing the day, I love them all. My favourites are with my bridesmaids & the mums, walking down the aisle, seeing Jonny for the first time and the photos of the speeches & partying. So yes, I love them all. Ona was great. She took time to listen to what we wanted & what was important. Looking back at the photos makes my heart sing.”
The couple were lucky enough to be helped by Rebecca Robertson who planned and styled the day. The bride explaining “Neither Jonny or I enjoy planning. So my favourite part was when my wonderful friend Becky, an events planner by profession, offered to take over.”
Congratulations on your marriage Ciara and Jonny! Thank you for taking the time to share your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Ona Janzen of Whspr for allowing us to share this stunning celebration!
Gorgeous story telling going on, and the venue for the reception is wonderfully rustic and rural. Great unique elements put into this wedding, congratulations to you both Ciara and Jonny!
