Hannah & Nick
I kind of fell in love with Hannah and Nick through their engagement photos captured by Sophie Baker Photography . Sweet moments captured, simple love stories and a such a relaxed shoot, just as we are feeling. Hannah telling “We first met over 10 years ago, when we were teenage dirt bags. Nick was a good mate of my older brother and we became close friends when they moved into a house together. It wasn’t until after 6 years of friendship that we realised why we were jealous when we were dating other people… Much to my brother’s surprise, we started dating and quickly fell in love, moving into our own place 6 months later.”
On what she loves about Nick, Hannah tells “What I love most about Nick is that he well and truly knew how mad I was before we were a couple… and he still went for it! Every day I look forward to waking up next to Nick, and when he looks at me I know that everything is going to be ok and that he will always be there. I love that we can tell each other exactly what we think and be completely honest with each other.”
“We fell in love with Tamborine Mountain after staying up there, and behind the wedding venue we booked was Curtis Falls Rainforest Walk. I knew that’s where I wanted to be for the shoot. I am a proud Plant Lady and I love how beautiful and green it is in there. And the ferns! The beautiful ferns! Oh and how we were pretending to be in Jurassic Park the whole time was fun.”
“We have laughed everyday together, so kinda hard to pin point one story. They’ve all blended into a continuous funny story really. The only break in the story was one night in New Orleans 2014 because neither of us have any memory of it! All we got out of it was Hannah’s broken glasses and a very unproductive day following…it will forever be a mystery.”
The proposal was a complete surprise, Hannah telling “Nick booked a weekend away for our “birthdays” as they are only 2 weeks apart (what a clever ruse). We got to our beautiful retreat at Mt Tamborine and it was amazing! We quickly settled in to that place (well Nick seemed a little edgy) then headed to dinner, returning after with 2 bottles of wine down, and some extra liquid courage Nick needed. We walked into our room which had been dressed in rose petals, candles and a freshly drawn bubble bath! And the first thing I said was “Jeez, someone’s put rose petals everywhere!!!” then it clicked when I turned around to see Nick on one knee and tears in his eyes. YES! Is all I said.”
