Kristy and Scott
I kind of love everything about today’s relaxed Mornington Peninsula wedding, but not least the big surprise Kristy’s family managed to pull off post wedding ceremony! There is a celebratory spirit in the air, a warmth and a sense of deep love. They chose Jason Vandermeer to capture their day in all its sunshine filled glory.
On how they met, Kristy tells, “Scott and I met 10 years ago out the front of a fish and chip shop at about 2am. The first thing I did when I met him was steal his chips and then walked off with my girlfriends to head home. But we always would cross paths from that day forward.”
Kristy chose Jane Hill to design her wedding gown. “I wore a Jane Hill ‘Lotti’ dress on the day and felt like a princess. I was so happy with the colour as it just suited our theme so well.”
Kristy and Scott met before the ceremony for photographs.
Of their wedding photographer, Kristy remarks, “Jason was unreal, he just has such a stealth groove to him! The shots he got throughout the day are so beautiful and relaxed and his eye to detail is exceptional. I was so glad to have found him. You rock Jason!”
Kristy and Scott chose The Briars, Mount Martha for their wedding ceremony. They hired stylist Champagne & Glitter for the day, Kristy noting, “Our ceremony was all designed by myself and the amazing Anthea from Champagne and Glitter. Anthea heard my idea and just ran with it. Anthea just got it from the word go and was amazing and flexible. I was so glad she put all the ideas together with her eye for detail.”
Kristy tells, “The most important thing about this wedding was that everyone enjoyed themselves. We had pulled together a great team at the ceremony to make sure everyone had a drink in their hand and a bite to eat.”
“The girls arrived on the back of a horse and cart to Leonardo’s Bride “Even When I’m Sleeping” playing. We all just laughed the whole way down the track.”
Kristy walked down the aisle with her parents to Leonardo’s Bride “Even When I’m Sleeping”.
“My amazing friend Donald created our arch as a gift which was so thoughtful.”
Simone Cresp officiated the ceremony, Kristy remembering, “Throughout the ceremony there were tears and laughter especially when I started reading Scott’s vows instead of mine. Our celebrant Simone was calming and so sweet, so it made it really pleasurable. I had my aunty and my great friend join us for readings. I asked them to pick whatever they wanted to read or create as I felt that is more meaningful than the bride taking control.”
That surprise I mentioned earlier? Let’s have Kristy talk us through it. “After we were married our photographer asked us to stand on top of a small hill so we could help pull everyone together for a group shot. No one would listen so Scott and I yelled out “come on guys help us out!” Next thing you know “What Is Love” By Haddaway comes over the loud speakers and everyone starts dancing in time to the song…. my family had organised a flash mob!!! We could not stop laughing it was such a classic.”
Kristy tells, “We had a very relaxed rustic wedding. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable but ready to party.”
Kristy and Scott chose the winery estate Trofeo Estate Dromana for their wedding reception, noting, “The raw earthy barn feeling to Trofeo Estate worked so well with our design. But mostly having such an awesome chick like Lori running the show it was the icing on the cake.”
“Visually, I loved my cake! It was such a master piece!”
Van Wyk Flowers created the floral arrangements for the day.
Of their first dance, Kristy remembers, “Our first dance was relaxed and not a lot of practice went into it. We picked “You are the best thing” by Ray Lamontagne. The night was so beautiful and warm, so the band was set up on the deck around the venue so we just started dancing and laughing and enjoyed the moment on sunset.”
Tone Tone Semi Tones kept the music going all night long.
Congratulations on your marriage Kristy and Scott! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Jason Vandermeer for sharing today’s wedding with us!
Great idea on how they used the hay stock as chairs for their guests! This wedding is full of fun!
