Why should the girls get to have all the fun when it comes to choosing what to wear on your wedding day? Gone are the days of Morning Suits and top hats all in the same shade of black. Now grooms have just as many styles and options open to them as their bride!

So if you’re a groom looking to show a flair of style on your wedding day, we’ve got you sorted with the latest looks and trends.

Navy Suits

Wanting something a little left of centre but you’re not the type to reach for the pastel hues? A navy suit with a crisp white shirt is a suave and formal look without being overly traditional. For the best look, avoid royal blue ‘school uniform’ shades and stick to navy tones instead. If it is the navy look you’re after but you find yourself still wanting to add something a little unique, choose a tie in a bright print or a jacket with a satin or textured lapel for an individual touch. Finish off your style with silver cufflinks for a formal ceremony or opt for a gunmetal option if it’s a more relaxed event.

Mix and Match Colour

If colour is more your style, mix and match everything from your pants, shirt, vest, jacket and tie! Shades of pink with blues and neutrals or muted yellows with earth tones can be perfect combinations when done correctly. To avoid looking like a ‘Wiggles extra’, choose muted colours and always include a neutral like beige or sand to balance the look.

If a suit of completely different colours is a little too much for you, have some fun mixing and matching elements of your groomsmen’s suits instead. Many brides favour different styles and colours for their maids so there’s no reason your groomsmen need to be identical either! Try selecting two or three tonal variations from your suit and choose your groomsmen’s suits in those shades. Tonal variations (just adding white or black to your original colour) will ensure that all the colours work well together without clashing.

Prints
