Natalie & Sam
When you’re flying halfway across the world for your wedding you want to show your guests the sights in all their glory. Natalie and Sam chose an intimate Sydney restaurant wedding, at the beautiful Quay Restaurant (which has some of the best views in Sydney) to celebrate their big day. Anni Payne of Milk & Honey Photography was there to capture it all.
Of their love story, Natalie and Sam tell. “We originally met in Sydney and moved together to New York in 2011 where we have since been living. While we always joked we would elope and wanted something very small, when we decided to get married we realized that we wanted to celebrate at home, over the Sydney summer with our closest friends and family.”
Natalie wore a sleek gown by Lea-Ann Belter from Lovely Bride.
Natalie and Sam married at a private home in Point Piper. Natalie noting, “Given we’re currently living in New York, we wanted to come home to a Sydney summer and to celebrate with our close family so we held the ceremony at home for 25 people.”
Natalie walked down the aisle to John Legend’s “All Of Me”.
Natalie describes the wedding as “Small, intimate, simple and classic.”
Nicky Solomon performed the ceremony which had Jewish influences. Natalie remarks, “We first met/ Skyped with Nicky from New York and found her so warm and open. She genuinely cared about creating a very personal and intimate ceremony that truly incorporated our friends and family. Leading up to the ceremony, she guided us in everything from our vows through to the logistics of the ceremony.”
A tea ceremony followed the formal proceedings before guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawns.
Guests took a boat together to Quay Restaurant for the wedding reception.
Of their photographer, Natalie tells, “We were amazed to look back at the photos and see that Anni seemed to be everywhere capturing every moment from every angle – a superhuman effort! She was so easy to work with, integrated herself seamlessly into the event, and made us all feel comfortable and natural on the day.”
Mikarla Bauer created the floral arrangements for the day, Natalie remembering, “Mikarla came highly recommended by friends and she organized everything entirely by email as we live in New York. We provided an open brief and her creative direction and suggestions were perfect. She made everything so easy with the logistics and delivery – her bouquets and table decorations were stunning, elegant and perfectly suited to our simple and intimate wedding.”
Congratulations on your marriage Natalie and Sam! Thank you for sharing your day with us. Thank you also to Milk & Honey Photography for sharing today’s wedding!
