Christina and Stuart
After a small ceremony with just their closest loved ones, Christina and Stuart chose a furniture workshop for their reception dinner – this captivating space set the scene for a romantic dinner by candlelight all captured by Julian Meehan Photography.
Christina tells their story. “Stuart and I met at work. He came to Australia from South Africa to complete a project for one year, we fell in love and the rest is history!”
Bud Flowers created the floral arrangements for the day.
Christina and her bridesmaid chose gowns from Anna Campbell.
Christina walked down the aisle at The Royal Botanical Gardens to At Last by Etta James. She remembers, “I loved walking down the aisle on my father’s arm, the feeling was unforgettable, and then seeing Stuart at the end waiting for me.”
Melissa Polimeni performed the ceremony.
Christina describes the day as, “An intimate day that spoke volumes about our life together and respect for each other, a show of our love for our family and friends. An elegant yet simple, honest and a true celebration of love.”
Christina and Stuart chose Arteveneta, an artisan furniture workshop for their wedding. “Early in planning for our wedding, Stuart and I decided we wanted to have a small wedding (34 guests), we wanted to do it all ourselves and decided to keep it a secret from all our guests (including my mum to her annoyance!). Being engaged for a year and a half, the excitement and anticipation grew stronger each month, then weeks as we drew closer to the day. We sent out the invitations with only the ceremony location. It was amazing to see their faces upon entering Arteveneta, such a unique space! We still have friends saying they had the best time!”
Napkins were tied with name tags hand written by Stuart’s father. Each guest received a candle from Glasshouse Candles in “Amalfi Coast” one of the couple’s honeymoon destinations.
Guests enjoyed an incredible feast by Ed Dixon Food Design . Christina remarking, “The food by Ed Dixon Food Design was one of our favourite things, our guests are still talking about it. ”
Christina loved the speeches. “Our MC ( Stuart’s brother), his best man, his dad and my maid of honor, there was not a dry eye around the table. From stitches of laughter to full of tears, it was so heart felt.”
The cake was handmade, Christina remembering, “Our very good friends Rob and Bree made our amazing cake from scratch!”
The first dance was beautiful, Christina noting, “We danced to Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. It was spontaneous, Stuart had chosen the song as a surprise. Without even practicing first, it was very romantic, we danced by candlelight, surrounded by our guests.”
Congratulations on your marriage Christina and Stuart! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Julian Meehan Photography for today’s photographs and Ed Dixon Food Design for sharing today’s wedding!
Such lovely memories and beautiful photos! Congratulations again Christina and Stu – I felt very privileged to be a part of your very happy day.
Excellent photography! Blue sky, beach side, romantic expressions everything goes one with another. I just ate that cake through my screen!
