Alexandra & Phillip

I love the nautical inspired touches in today’s seaside engagement shoot from photographer Hilary Cam. The gorgeous backdrop of Gordon’s Bay with storm ravaged rock faces, over turned row boats and the couple’s inclusion of sweet nautical details added the charm to this engagement shoot.

Of Phillip, Alexandra says, “I love his sense of adventure and fun. Phillip is a real gentleman who sees the absolute best in everyone, plus he’s a crazy dancer and a great experimental chef.

Alexandra tells the story of how they met. “We were introduced by a mutual friend. One of my best friends at university had grown up in the same neighbourhood as Phillip in Ottawa. Coincidentally they both ended up living in Sydney. We became friends not long before Phillip took off for an extended trip up the east coast, but when he came back and decided to settle in Sydney we started dating.”

Of Alexandra, Phillip says, “I love her intelligence and honesty. She’s probably the best Trivial Pursuit player I’ve ever seen – and she never lets me forget it.”

The proposal story took place in Thailand, Alexandra telling, “We had been dating for a few years but realised it was forever while on a 6 month trip of South East Asia and India. So it was fitting that Phillip proposed during a trip to Thailand. I’d been blissfully unaware that a proposal was coming but Phillip said the first few days of his holiday were the most stressful holiday he’d ever had – he kept thinking he’d lose the ring or I would find it.”

The couple’s engagement photographs took place at Gordon’s Bay, Alexandra explaining ,”We love Gordon’s Bay, it’s one of our favourite Sydney spots and a great place to take a picnic on a sunny day. We really wanted to capture some of the happy memories we have of lazy days sunning ourselves on the rocks.  I had had my make up done by Michelle Mae of Mae You Be Beauty.
