Finally it’s Adelaide’s turn for a spin on our finds for Industrial style wedding venues! (check out or Melbourne industrial wedding venue roundup and our Sydney industrial wedding venue roundup). Industrial style venues are some of my favourites because of the blank canvas they provide – with character! Polished cement floors, exposed beams and stories within the walls.
Here’s our finds, we’d love to hear any we have missed so leave a comment!
Queen’s Theatre
PLEASE NOTE: The Queen’s Theatre is no longer available for wedding hire.
The Queen’s Theatre, at the corner of Gilles Arcade and Playhouse Lane in Adelaide’s West End, is the oldest purpose-built theatre on mainland Australia.Warehouse/Industrial vibe inside! It also allows outside catering, has plenty of exposed beams and cement floors (so a winner all round!)
Tandanya, Adelaide’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait arts centre provides such a unique backdrop for a wedding. Sleek floors, exposed ceilings lend the industrial chic vibe and with space to hold 500 guests for cocktail functions of 400 for sit down dining in the gallery spaces. Different galleries are available depending on what exhibitions are on show and of course, it allows outside catering!
Adelaide’s National Wine Centre has many different areas to choose from, high ceilings give an industrial vibe, and lots of wine! They have in house award winning caterers and dedicated wedding packages that make sure everything is taken care of. The largest room holds 500 guests, and the gallery 50-140 depending on your setup.
Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre
Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre has long been a stalwart for the Adelaide creative arts community and it also doubles as a function space! The cabaret space can hold up to 200 guests and has a moveable dance floor, full bar facilities and the ability to bring in outside caterers.
Could there be anything more industrial style than an old railway museum? Meet National Railway Museum . We’re talking big sheds with train platforms, plenty of old trains for guests to explore, high, exposed ceilings and cement floors. Unusual and fun for your wedding venue!
Stonyfell Function Centre
Getting into the gorgeous Adelaide wineries, Stonyfell Function Centre is based at Stoneyfell Winery only 15 minutes from the city. With exposed pipework ceilings, the space can hold from 55 to 350 guests.
With high ceilings, exposed beams, polished concrete floors and steel pendant lights, Longview Vineyard provides a fab mix of winery and industrial chic! (Plus with accommodation and ceremony space options on site, it makes a wonderful all in one venue option!)
Glenewin Estate‘s The Gatehouse space, located with beautiful vineyard views is the more industrial style space with high, pitched ceilings, cement flooring, pendant lights and a corrugated iron roof it ticks all the industrial style boxes. For a more rustic approach, the Pulpshed has wooden features. There’s a huge capacity at the venue catering up to 450 guests.
The circa 1860 flourmill, Petaluma Bridgewater Mill is only 20 minutes from the city and has intimate spaces holding 45 guest to more expansive 130 guests with dancing. Beautiful wooden beamed ceilings and polished cement floors bring the industrial edge to this historic venue. There’s even an old workers cottage B&B on site!
Some gorgeous venues there! It would wonderful to photograph a wedding at one of these beautiful locations
The Queens Theatre doesn’t hold functions anymore, we’ve just emailed them about a wedding reception and they said no 🙁
