Heidi and Adam

Q Station, Manly is not the first place you’d think of for a wedding and yet it is the most utterly gorgeous location for Heidi and Adam’s celebration. Tied together with so many handmade details- from Heidi’s jewels to the cake topper, today’s couple worked hard to play with wedding elements and make them their own.

Heidi tells their story. “Adam and I met at a music camp in 1999. He’s a pianist and I love to sing. Music has always been a very important part of our relationship and when we were dating, we would often make mixtapes for each other.”

The Follans captured the gorgeous shots today- making the most of Q Station’s industrial backdrop.

Heidi wore a gown by Tara Hartman with colourful Naturalizer shoes. She and her bridesmaids made their own jewels. Her bridesmaids wore soft, drapey blouses from Forever New with grey skirts adorned with a peach waistband also by Tara Hartman.

Heidi and Adam married at The Salvation Army, Panania, Heidi remarking, “Our church was perfect and very special to us.” The newlyweds made the bunting for the ceremony using old sheets. They also made their own invitations, cake topper, ring cushion and place cards.

Heidi walked down the aisle to ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by James Taylor & Yo Yo Ma.

“Our ceremony was truly special and unique to us; we asked our pastor to speak a personal message to us after we were said our vows and that was such a highlight.”

Guests enjoyed afternoon tea before moving on to the reception.

Of their photographers, Heidi says, “I met The Follans at the One Fine Day wedding fair and immediately thought “they’re perfect!”. Their work ethic is great, they work so well together and I felt like we were in safe hands right from the beginning. Good quality photography was one of our priorities so we invested a little more into it than other things and we don’t regret it. I personally loved the honest style The Follans express in their work. It’s not staged or false – we love all the little candid moments captured that really tell the story of our day! I would recommend them to anyone and already have. ”

Heidi and Adam celebrated with a reception at Q Station, Manly, Heidi explaining, “The reception venue was simple and calm. We were so glad we planned it so we took all our photos there as well. The grounds are amazing and full of history – not to mention the view!”

Guests received handmade jams and candles from Rachael’s Remedies.

Heidi notes, “Our first dance was to a song that was from one of our old mix tapes. It’s by Iron and Wine and is called ‘Love and Some Verses’.”

Congratulations on your marriage Heidi and Adam! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to The Follans for sharing today’s wedding.
