Sabrina and James planned their wedding quickly – they booked their reception venue ten days before the wedding and chose to share their day with only a handful of guests. They celebrated their love in Melbourne using some of the city’s most famous backdrops for their photographs and celebrating with an intimate Melbourne urban wedding.

Sabrina tells the story of how they met. “We met at the Melbourne Airport. As usual I was traveling with very light baggage and was flying to Shanghai. James on the other hand was troubled with overweight baggage. Well, silly and naive as I was at that time, I agreed to share his check in baggage weight, and of course we sat together on the plane, and chatted all the way back to Shanghai. The rest is for you to imagine. Thinking about our encounter, it scares me every now and then, what if I agreed to check in the baggage with a drug trafficker?”

Sabrina wore a short Ted Baker gown.

Sabrina and James were married in the Old Treasury Building.

Sabrina remembers, “It was a very small, intimate and casual wedding. We skipped a lot of the traditions and focused on a whole afternoon of sharing, chattering and laughter.”

Sabrina made her veil, bouquet and the table settings.

Of their photographer, Sabrina says, “Full of energy, fun, very easy to get along, and very professional! ”

Sabrina and James chose Sails On The Bay for their wedding reception a mere ten days before the wedding, Sabrina remarks, “We chose Sails on the Bay for it’s location, right on the beach. The view from our full height glass reception room was spectacular. Gorgeous food and lovely staff too. ”

Bakingpassion made the wedding cake, Sabrina recalling, “One of the surprises of the day was the cake which I ordered from Bakingpassion, by Giulia. The cake was absolutely beautiful, matched perfectly with the overall tone of the day.”

“The whole event turned out as I wished it to be, and even better. Soft sunlight shined upon us all day long. It was a good day, my photographer Elleni even saved a little injured boy near the beach.”
